Put tape on flex to Lower LVDS MB CN6800 Pin 40 GND/ErrorDet. powered On, white LED flashes followed by 4 red flash. The relay does not click at all...
Must GND/ErrorDet line on MB side be tied to 3.3V or GND when Pin 40 is taped open?Leave a comment:

I am embarrassed to have missed this important panel problem 
A close up of the two dead pixel columns is attached.
1) Studying the interconnect shows MB CN6200 Pin 4 LD_ERR, but this connector is not stuffed.
2) Lower MB LVDS CN6800 does not have a signal labeled LD_ERR, but Pin 40 is GND/ErrorDet and it goes thru a 0 Ohm SMD near the connector. Removing the 0 Ohm SMD will leave this MB input floating....Leave a comment:

only disconnect the 21V EVDD socket between PSU and T-CON , turn on yours TV should turn on with black screen... your sign the optic port lit red and remain on."
-> TV did not turn on and no indicator lights
-> Waited many minutes then pressed TV power button one time, indicator flashed white one time then optic port lit Red and then indicator began to flash Red 5 times forever

Sony OLED XR-77A80J - Initially dead, now 4 Flashes
A) TV initially dead
B) On a hunch of a locked up Google OS, plugged in a USB memory stick with latest FW and plugged it in. It booted into the update screen, completed the update and restarted to Home screen.
C) Was able to perform a Reset from Settings menu and completed out of box configuration.
D) Ran a 4K screen saver demo for about 6 hours, then turned it off for the day. Did not notice any stripes, dead zones or other artifacts in the image.
E) Powered back on and it now runs for a few minutes before relay clicks, screen goes blank, Main Board Red Digital Optical... -
SONY BRAVIA XBR-55A8H - White horizontal lines / red LED flashes four times
This "free from a friend who was going to recycle it" SONY BRAVIA XBR-55A8H arrived with the bottom center RED LED repeating a four flash pattern. It was treated with kid gloves and was reported to have "just gone dead" and the OLED panel has no dents in the metal frame or cracks.

Re: VIZIO E550i-B2 Sound - No Video Problem
Fixed an E550i-B2 today with fractured Power Supply CN202 solder joints.
This failure may be due to a 3-4X difference in CTE (coefficient of thermal expansion) between the glass reinforced plastic chassis and PCBs clamped to it by 13 screws, resulting in high forces directly applied to CN202.
To remove the force on CN202 I decided to 'float' the LED Driver PCB as follows:
- Remove LED Driver PCB
- Under LED Driver PCB, trim off the plastic locating pin near upper left corner and both right edge...Leave a comment:

Another 2493HM saved by this thread...
- Only 5.3V standby voltage present
- Both FQPF9N50C FETs shorted and RM801 open
- One FQPF9N50C drive transformer secondary open due to glue dissolving wire in a bobbin groove above the mounting pin.
- Scraped glue off everything!
- Replaced RM801, both FQPF9N50C FETs, diodes and zeners in the FQPF9N50C circuit.
- Repaired the transformer by digging glue out of bobbin groove to expose a mm of wire, and adding a piece of 30 AWG wire wrap wire to extend it...Leave a comment:

Adding a 2443BW variant, "2 sec to black with input signal present"
- Monitor would toggle between dim Analog & Digital no signal present icons all day, yet go dark 2 sec after a signal was applied to analog or digital inputs.
- Determined the top lamp output would not fully light a spare lamp with either top or bottom internal lamps connected. Under this test the Analog & Digital icons were visible at the same dim level so both internal lamps appeared to be working.
