yea, if the controller Vcc rail is unregulated this will be a problem.
it is definitely a failure on some other inverters though usually it goes the other way (low, causing inverter to stop)
though the FETs probably only fail because the driver in the controller IC failed (latch up potentially), or P-N overlap occurred due to insufficient turn off margin.

Thats the failure then now time to order a SEM2017 Ic and a whole new set of Mosfets for this I recon that they killed the Ic in the first place tbh Tom, going to cost me £16 for everything if I order the Ic and more Fets but still cheaper than a new inverter. Cheers Tom going to also check the resistors for it as well

Nah,i'm all good thanks i recently ordered a similar IC and some FETS from China, just hoping the quality will be ok.
I might even have a complete board in my cupboard for yours. It's a 40" Toshiba but i think the insides might be the same ?

I installed mine (from China) a couple of days ago and the damaged Mosfet and the Tv works great now.

Got the Control Ic replaced and the failed Mosfets, tv fires on Bl is up haven't checked Vcc just going to see what happens. I have put some thermal pads under the Mosfets to help them disperse some heat to the chassis.

Think its all sorted, been running it on full brightness for hours now and working great. Going to test it for a few more days

Ah wish I caught this sooner I. Have one those boards that wudnt switch backlight u could of had it for the parts for post cost, I resolved mine by switching the good lcd. From that one into a toshiba (vestel ) of same size that had bad panel lol

Ahh no, hopefully now I have repaired it at component level it will be alot more reliable. Just got to wait and see what happens over the next few days
