Vizio E370VLE Standby/Logo flashing while on

I could use some help with this. I'm working on a friend's Vizio E370VLE and the standby or vizio logo flashes orange and white at about 1 second intervals. The TV comes on, and it's been on for about 3 hours this morning. I've got picture and sound, basically it works fine but the logo keeps blinking. I've checked a few things but have yet to take any pictures of the boards. I'll post some pictures in a bit. Here's what I know.

    Main Board Voltage Regulators:1117 and 1117 1.2
    UP3
    1. 0.24v
    2. 1.47v
    3. 3.33v

    UP13 (adjustable)
    1. 0.00v
    2. 1.20v
    3. 3.33v

    UP14
    1. 2.04v
    2. 3.28v
    3. 5.24v

    Power Supply:
    Big Cap: 68uf 450v
    Voltage across: 388v

Like I said, I've got picture and sound, for all intents and purposes, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong, just that the standby/logo light continues to alternate orange and white. No bulging caps, but I replaced most of them (ones I had replacements for) anyway on the power supply. Any ideas? This has me stumped!

very unusual problem, this maybe a corrupt eeprom. I will try resetting the TV back to factory.

I'm thinking resetting the TV could fix the problem or go from a working TV to not working TV.

Re: Vizio E370VLE Standby/Logo flashing while on

Thanks ecking767, I'm not sure if I want to possibly kill it. I was thinking black tape over the logo.

I did find something though and I'm in the process of hopefully resolving the issue. In the photo attached is the connection for the standby/logo light. (Now, instead of black tape I have an option of just unplugging the light. Just kidding I'd like to see if we can figure this out). I found on the connection that the voltages are dropping. Starting from the top of the picture and going down the three connections read:

          1. 5.08v
          2. 2.78 ---drop to 1.92v then back to 2.78v
          3. 3.59 ---drop to 3.13v then back to 3.59V

These are the voltages being sent to this connection from the main board. I just have to find from where they are being sent.

From the close up picture you can see that I replaced UP3 but no changes in the voltages from the OP. I checked voltages on the PS on the 14 pin connection and they all read true to what they are supposed to be, and with no variations in voltages like on this connection.

Ecking, by golly you were right! I got to looking into some things in the menu and found this in the System Information.

            Before Reset:
            Model: E370VLE
            Version: 0532
            Source Type: DTV
            Resolution: Unknown
            Vertical Freq.: 0
            Progressive: Unknown

            After Reset:
            Model: E370VLE
            Version: 0532
            Source Type: DTV
            Resolution: 704x480
            Vertical Freq.: 29.97
            Progressive: No

It looks like it was a corrupt eeprom after all. Thanks for your help!

So how did you get into reset mode on these E series?

Go to the menu, then to 'Help' in that option you have a "Factory Defaults" reset option. You have to have the 4 digit Parental Code to reset, if you never assigned one then enter 0000, then 'yes'. It will restart and take you through the Setup Wizard. That's it! If the Parental Code has been set and forgotten, you may be out of luck. Oh, and you will need the remote since you have to enter the 4 digit code. You can use an app on a tablet or smart phone that has IR, as the remote. There is a free one on google play.

OK, I see, you did not have to get into the service menu mode using remote keys combination.

No, I was able to get into the menu using the buttons on the side, but had to get the remote before I could reset.

                      Straight from Vizio's website:

To restore a VIZIO TV to its factory default settings:

                      VIA TV

Press the MENU button on the remote.
In VIA it is: Depending on the model: Highlight HELP then Clear Memory. Or HELP then Reset and Admin and press the OK button then Clear Memory.
Use the Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight CLEAR MEMORY/FACTORY DEFAULTS or Reset TV to Factory Defaults and press the OK button.
Enter the parental control PIN (if you have never changed this, it is 0000) and press OK on the remote.
Do not press the Power button. The TV will reset, turn off, and then turn on again by itself.

The initial setup appears when the TV is powered back on. This is the same as the first time you turned on the TV.

Ok so here's the story. I was watching tv one day when all of a sudden I heard a pop from the back of the tv set and rushed to unplug the set. By this time the tv already had smoke coming out the back. It was not storming or inclement weather that day to cause a power surge to the best of my abilities. When I opened the tv up, I found that the three capacitors on the psu (highlighted in red) were all bulging and looked they had exploded. I replaced all of them right away and when I went to start up the tv after the "fix" it started just showing the flashing vizio logo as soon as power...

                          by fharris1977
Hi. I got a Vizio with no power or standby, and won't turn on with remote or button. I checked the voltages on the connector and all read 0.00V or nearly 0(0.050 ON/OFF pin). None of the pins are labeled STB for standby although I do see some 5V pins. Other than the obvious standby led, which isn't coming on, is there a way to check for standby voltage on this PS. I'm trying to see if my problem is the PS or mainboard. Some Vizios I have fixed with no standby led me to think it was the PS but it turned out being the mainboard. Any experience with this set would be greatly appreciated.

I just got this tv today and it's getting stuck on the wallpaper. When I first power it on it goes to the V logo, then a black screen for about 15 seconds, then a Chromecast error for just a few seconds, and then finally to a wallpaper. It stays frozen on this wallpaper and does not respond to anything on the remote besides power on/off. Likewise the buttons on the tv do nothing either (besides power). I did the "reset" by holding the volume down and input buttons together for 10 seconds. It showed a message at the top of the screen saying it was Wiping Data and would restart soon. After...
