i have tried multiple times to upload via attachments its not working. File sizes are all correct. Can you just use the link to see? Its much better resolution and size anyway.

Put simply you are not trying hard enough - Life is a lot simpler for us to just move on to another thread
Try adding pics 2,3 &4 one at a time - we also need to see that back of the power supply and the back and front of the main board (no pic at all?)

OK have just had a quick look but I cant work at it tonight
C525 looks a little bulged to me the way the light reflects - is it? have a look
flat across the end. What brand is it?

Also top left of the power supply there are 4 diodes looking at the back the
solder on the bottom one doesnt look great (maybe just the picture so check it out with a magnifying glass or just resolder them all.

Hopefully someone else on your side of the pond will join in and maybe spot a few other things and suggest a few tests.

I think this is an LED backlight - is it dim all over or are different sections dim?

Thanks ill take a look when the kids go down. The whole tv is dim, like black... I can barley see any video input and I have to turn off the light in the room to even see it. Ill get back asap. Thanks again.

ps the brand of the tv is insignia. If your talking about the boards, im unsure.

That is a LED TV. The LED driver is combined with the power supply. Measure the voltage on X602 (LED output).
selldoor has a good eye. I looked at the same cap on two pictures and it sticks out a bit compared to the others. Maybe that is indeed a bad cap.

One more pic please of the top right of the power supply, without that cable plugged in, so we can see the pinouts too.

just the front, that we can see the pin out. If your at it, you can make some measurements on that connector with the TV on. GND is chassis ground. Put all the cables back on the boards, turn on the TV and make DC voltage measurements on that connector with the cable attached.

OK attached the top right power supply. So when making the measurements what setting does the voltmeter be on? Also with all power cords connected and tv on, how exactly do i measure x602? with the x602 connecting cable out?

Also c525 does look slightly bulged. Not trained in any of this but it does look swollen.

Should that be X601? marked at gn and 55v? Just put meter on vdc200

EDIT no!! got it now - forget that.

With meter on vDC600 test cross the legs on that 250v cap C625 - care maybe high voltage

Hello, I have a strange issue with a laptop that I'm working on fixing up for a friend of mine, and it appears as though the LCD backlight control is not reliable. The LCD backlight flickers sometimes with inconsistent brightness. The controls are no better.. when I go 1/3 of the way in the brightness controls it will get bright but flicker quite obviously, and when I go all the way to what SHOULD be full brightness, it becomes darker. The flickering is less severe at lower brightness, but more severe at higher. the backlight will literally flicker on and off when I set it to the lowest brightness...

                                          Hello All,

My Samsung LE52B620 started to have backlight flickering about a year ago, it would only last for about 10 mins and then the backlight would stay on.

about a month ago the backlight flickering is constant and does not stop.

I think it's a problem with the power supply board (BN44-00267b) or maybe the backlight is dying?

I checked and all the caps look to be fine.

I do not believe it is a problem with the mainboard, since I unplugged it from the power supply and the backlight came out but still flickers.
                                          ...

this tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even...

Hi. Could anyone on the forum help me find the cause of the problem?
The board is LA-B111P Rev:1A comes from Lenovo Y50-70.

I have a identified the damaged R205 resistor, and connect a jump wire over it So it restores the backlight but causing strange problems

                                          1. With Battery ONLY plugged in laptop works fine
2 .With Charger ONLY plugged in laptop works fine as well

                                          3. Connecting both battery and charger at the same time shows a strange flickering screen. The flickering is not constant, it is completely random (and I think it depends on the load

This TV has been on the wall in our reception area for around 10 years and the other day the backlight failed. You could see a feint picture so we knew the screen was OK. I took the TV apart to get to the failed backlight and inject voltage in to each half of the LED strips to identify which ones had failed and 4 needed replacing. I ordered a set off of Amazon and they arrived the next day.

On fitting the new LED strips I plugged in the TV was blinded by the light!!

It was only when I partially put it all back together (including the screen) that...
