Hello, I have a strange issue with a laptop that I'm working on fixing up for a friend of mine, and it appears as though the LCD backlight control is not reliable. The LCD backlight flickers sometimes with inconsistent brightness. The controls are no better.. when I go 1/3 of the way in the brightness controls it will get bright but flicker quite obviously, and when I go all the way to what SHOULD be full brightness, it becomes darker. The flickering is less severe at lower brightness, but more severe at higher. the backlight will literally flicker on and off when I set it to the lowest brightness though. I cannot find any other information about this, but I did see a guy on reddit say this was related to some inductor on the board. I do have the correct schematic for this system which I will attach. What components would I need to look at in order to determine what the issue is? I really don't want to spend a lot of money on a new motherboard for this. It could be the screen itself but I am hoping that is not the issue.
