IC U40 removed, that was shorted
Resistance at capacitor vs gnd at 1 of inductor pad is 3,5k ohm now
No more short after ic U40 removed
that's my typical method too, thanks
Thanks, will order sooner
Yes, its regulator IC, luckily no capacitors this time
Sorry it was my bad if i was not clear enough. I never tried to inject 12 volt on that specific section/block. Injected on the main connector to verify current...

Power Inductor L20 and the output of the IC (Output vs GND) seems to be shorted but can't find anywhere else short ? is it due to IC or itself inductor which could be short ?
Nearby coupling capacitors are all OK/NOT SHORT...

Have you tried with a different ram ? if you still have a copy of your original bios dump try to verify it before soldering it back on the mother board
else request or search for a bios on the forum and try that

Qnap TS 653D - no power / no light / dead
Hi,
Got a QNAP TS 653D today, which is totally dead.
After some investigation found that one of the dc-dc IC (buck converter 568215/ TPS568215) is getting too hot (with NAS own PS).
Switch to bench power supply and applied the 12V supply to identify the short circuit where found that the unit continuously draws draws 110mA !!!
Does anyone has its schematic or boardview ?
Question is how can i verify if that is the only IC which is defective ? is there any way to bypass that and verify the HW before got replacement IC ? where else can i...

But that dump is from another reserv board which has MXIC chip and even was functional as well. The only change i made was change display settings to discreate ONLY, and since then this Laptop turn on with fans spinning but beeping and no display.
Earlier i thought Winbond bios will work on MXIC board but I think they are not compatible with each other.
Therefore shared MXIC dump so please clean that plus make sure that the settings are set to default values.
Because I am sure by changing configuration to default will work on that board

can someone please verify that if the isssue is at my end or with the file ?

Hi,
Sorry if that is off topic
I bought the replacement motherboard for HP ZBook Studio G5 and was playing with its BIOS while accidentally i changed the display setting to ONLY discrete and since then i never got a display
Laptop keeps beeping and restarting and i have a doubt that its discrete NVIDIA card is not functioning either from the beginning or because of my some wrong bios configuration
So now the question is how can i reset the bios to its default setting ?
Thanks in advance...

Thank you very much.
I can't find that component available nearby, does anyone have any alternative part number for the given component SY8883Thank you very much.

Hi,
Thanks again but that is not assembled in your board layout, can you please check the other similar component marked in PURPLE in the new picture attached...
