    photo negative LG 47" LW6500

Hi I have a 3d LG 47" LW 6500. The screen has washed out colors and the menu does as well. I tried replacing the tcon to no avail. Everything works fine and the firmware is up to date. Is it the panel? Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like bad GAMMA Voltage ref problem in the T-CON board.

You want pics of the panel without the metal sheet? Or with the attached boards? Sorry if this sounds like a ridiculous question. I'm a newbie and I am trying to learn

You have to carefully remove that metal shield to get to the T-CON board. Show us the back side of the TV.

Hi,I took off all of the boards but I didn't feel qualified to remove the metal shield that remained. It didn't come off easily and I got nervous forcing it.I took two more pics of the screen. Any advice on how to remove the shielding

Post pictures of the shielding. Maybe there is a foot attached to the shielding. Dont forget to remove the screws near scart/hdmi section

A lot of times these shields are taped down with anti static tin tape or some sort of felt tape. Also they could be stuck to the top of the sponge like chip heatsinks.

Take a look around the shield sometimes they can be surrounding the TFT ribbons so you don't want to yank it off.

Most are only held on by 4-5 screws.

I tried that in my original post. Didn't work. Also, the shop tried it with a new one, same result.

I would say bad LCD panel then is the next most likeliest option.

Once, I had happen something very similar, with another older TV.
There is usually an adjustable resistor, on the panel's PCB and it was touching(shorting) to the panel's metal frame.

Hello there. I have the same tv series LW6500 but a 65". One side of screen looks wash out and the other half is black. Disconnecting the ribbon cables from the t-con (wash out side) the whole screen looks perfectly black. I would like to give T-con a try but can't find this board anywhere. Any suggestion on component level repair options? T-Con Part Number: 55.64T05.C04

If any body have the board for sale pls message me.

                                Thank you guys.

Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

                                    Hello everyone,

I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the...

                                    Hi,
i have a 65 Panasonic TX-65HX710E using vestel 17MB170 main and Lg tcon.

Few drops of water fell probably near COF and have no display. Tried removing tabs but no.part of display present as if tcon fuse open. However 12v is present and tcon can be felt warm enough that supplies are present. Backlight and sound ok.

Anyone knows if this TCon 6870c-0805A has any special test pins for rgb test?
