Hey All!
Long time forum member here with a problematic laptop issue!
I got a RZ09-0196 with a bloated battery (still worked and charged fine) I pulled the old cell pack out and installed a new cell pack in its place.
The laptop would not power on with the new battery installed without the power supply being plugged in.
When booting into Win10 (all up to date BTW) I saw the battery icon with 49% plugged in not charging.
TL;Dr version, old battery worked, charged but was bloated, installed a new non OEM replacement, laptop/windows...

Re: Samsung pn64e533d2f no pic sound ok
Flashlight test only works on LCD/LED panels, Plasma creates its own light so if you have no screen prime you will never see a picture.
These panels are known for their shotty Y and Z boards also there is a Samsung must firmware update for all their plasma panels if you have not done so update your firmware ASAP after fixing this.
Does your TV run with just the Y board attached to the SMPS or just the Zsus?

Re: LG 60PV450UA is this a bad Plasma Display
Also there are 2 panel types and 2 sets of X and Ysus boards for this panel, they are interchangeable too. Only thing I suggest is using the U/D buffers that are compatible to each Ysus.
So it will make your search easy for new boards for future folks looking to repair these 60" PV series panels.

My 2 60PV450's after repair have been up and running perfect. I like these panels, they are cheap but still have a really good picture!

Re: samsung pn58a650t1fxza clicking
This is probably related to a X or Y boards or buffer failure.

Re: Lg 60pv250 no picture
Does your phone/camera have digital macro setting?
Also something still looks off with the top half of the picture or is that just the refreash of the plasma screen vs the camera?

Re: Shout out to all techs:Rebuild or Replace
Mainboard repairs are my bane, I really wish I could have saved some of the ones I tossed as some of them were really hard to track down and now they are super expensive.
But Tom66 summed it up exactly.

Re: Lg 60pv250 no picture
that Zsus will sell fast, that is the most common failure on the PV series panels and they are very scarce now.
Bummer, you can try to see if you can find someone to fix that ribbon cable but yeah its a very hard task, can you get a close up shot of the tear higher res?

Re: Sony KDL-32M3000 ghosting
Can also try Freeze Spray or heat (hair dryer) the tabs up to see if that makes any changes.

Re: Sony KDL-32M3000 ghosting
If you are not getting any change with the tabs its probably the embedded IC chip inside the ribbon cables attached to the screen.
At this point I would just button it up and call it, if the mainboard is cheap or T-con you could try those but at this point being a 32" cost of parts vs a new TV thats up to you.
I know with most sony mainboards they are not just plug in play you will need to update the firmware if applicable, enter the Service menu and make sure to select the proper panel type ect.
Thats all...

Re: Sony KDL-32M3000 ghosting
You can do break it down with all the boards intact, all you need to do is remove the front bezel and then remove the front metal shroud around the LCD panel and presto.
IMO its a lot of work but might as well give it a go if you already have it apart.

Re: Sony KDL-32M3000 ghosting
You could try a new T-con but that looks like the typical Sony TFT LCD failure with the tab bonding.
Seeing that you only have one TFT ribbon cable coming out of the T-con makes it hard to test left and right screen integrity.
Very rare occasions the video output on the mainboard can cause LCD pixel text/picture bleed.

Re: Panasonic TC 55GT31 Horizontal Black Lines
Also did you verify your SC voltages are in spec as well as your SMPS voltages as well?

Re: Panasonic TC 55GT31 Horizontal Black Lines
It is possible when your SC board blew out that it damaged your SU board in the process that it still tests positive, it looks like the one IC that drives that part of the panel is starting to go.
does the screen anomaly change when you apply pressure to that ribbon cable when the set is on?
It is hard to damage those they are pretty tough, the only way you could damage it is pulling on it hard or trying to take the ribbon cable out at an angled when trying to remove the SU board.

Re: Panasonic th-42pz80u black vertical bar.
Bad Panel, you could try and swap the lower C buffer board but that looks like the address IC in the ribbon cable has failed due to heat.
I have had a couple of these and while they are a decent panel they are known for this sort of failure.

Re: horizontal line on SHARP LC-80LE757U
Seen this failure on the 70"'sharps and it's not repairable unfortunately. I don't see the 80" bring that much different.

Re: Samsung UN55B6000VFXZA bad panel?
One other thing you can try before spending money on parts is to access the service menu and locate the test patterns and see of those lines persist post t-Con or pre t-con.

Re: Samsung UN55B6000VFXZA bad panel?
Bad panel and bad t-con, notice black horizontal lines in photo two are very common in B series LED Samsung panels and there is no fix or no known cause as to why they happen.
Sometimes they cover full screen or most common is left to middle and dither out on the right side
If the t-con is cheap you can try to see if it remedies the solarazation issue but those lines will probably stay.Last edited by Shinju; 02-15-2016, 02:15 AM.

Re: Lg 60pv250 no picture
Need to remove each IGBT for a proper test, I have repaired 2 of those panels (60PV450) and it's always been bad IGBT's caused by those inductors coil soldier joints failing.
One Zsus had SMD componates on the back side of the board blow too.
