Toshiba 46TL963 3D LED Smart TV - No backlight

Hi all

Hope someone can help. I've got in a Toshiba 46TL963 3D LED TV with no backlight. Has sound, if you shine a torch into the screen you can see the picture. Just over a year old. Could it be a faulty T-Con board ?

if you can see a picture it isn't the t-con. take a picture of the whole back of the tv and all the individual boards. the problem is with the leds or it isn't getting the signal to turn the leds on.

Check the 24V to the led driver board, if it has one, and check the fuse on it.

Ok guys wondering if you can help me out here Tom, Been on the tvs for 20 years + now, just got one of these in, have a backlight with good picture from anywhere between 5 to 25 mins then the set will start to flicker then the backlight goes of. Picture is still there, I have checked all voltages and they are correct. I then changed the inverter board with no effect, i then tried the PSU thinking it may have an internitent fault but the same again. i doubt it is the main board?? so you think im looking at stripping the tv down to the LEDS and going through them!! id rather not but just thought i would take opinions on it.

Prob the LED chains--one or two going intermittent...

Common issue it seems, the LED's are chained in series--One out--All out!--Bit like 70's Union members!

About the only thing it can be--if there's supply to 'em and they go out with supply staying there!

Yes they do mate, 24v still there and 3.4v signal. what a nightmare!

@wadclip:
Please upload the pictures of your LED driver board and the pictures of the whole backside of your TV.
24V is probably for feeding the LED driver board but more likely that this 24V is fed into the Boost converter to get higher Voltages to drive the LED strings.
But as we have seen so many threads on LED TV in BC, it is more likely to be bad LED or bad wiring to the LED strings.

Was there a resolution to this issue ? Got same Tv with the same fault.
How difficult is it to source and replace LEDS ?

Just a quick question if this tv has no backlights but you can see a image if u shine a torch would this still be a possible bad LED bulb or driver board fault ?

Checked the return voltage going to the Led strips ? Is one different from the others ? Will link video showing how to do so if you need help.

How about the pictures of the whole back side of the TV, and each board so I can see how the LED strings are being powered? The OP never upload any pictures for us to see.
