"If the set doesn't auto turn on, then press the power button. In rare cases, the board does not require to be paired. If the set turns on and shows picture, you are done, no need to pair the mainboard!"

Im assuming since I plugged in the MB and it went thru the process and allowed me to perform a factory reset it, it has paired?

Ill try this now, but what is meant by " turn on the TV with signal " ? Do you just mean to power up tv?

I would run Nicks update/re-pair, its different than a reset, plus its probably the latest firmware for it.

under the speaker you will have plate on each side you need to remove them then you will have access to the panel buffer boards which the 2 ribbon cable from T-con connected to them... take look at the middle you will find U ribbon cable connect 2 pieces together on each side

Diah, you are referring to that panel in the first photo and not to the gold ribbons in the second, correct?

Secret to removing them? I took out the screws for the stands and I removed the 3 screws that were holding it down, but there is no play in the plate.

Ok thanks for trying and appreciate the patience. If you have doubt with the standalone test, which Im guessing that means you think either A its the panel or B my skills at the test, then theres no point in going further and Ill scrap it.

Do you really want to give up? ALL is not tried yet, now listen up, DO or at least try to do the update/re-pair, no joy then DO these tcon tests, a video is worth a million words. This is one of those youtubers that knows what hes doing, just follow his lead, lets see what we get. once again this is tv repair not brain surgery, these tests are really not that hard, specially with a good how to video right there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5uD1tzMdUs

Those tests on tcon have been done OVER and over and are tried and true, when you have missing vgh with one cable unhooked but comes back with the other side unhooked, you have found the fault, this case is the panel, which can be "fixed" or at least made workable.

Sorry Diah, I assumed by the statement since I was having trouble getting the plate off ( small things ) and the doubt about the standalone test and then with the final seek help before i cause damage, I figured you were doubting me and wanted to give up. I doubt my skills haha thats why Im here. i was able to figure out how to remove that panel, after the screws removed there were 3 of 4 black things holding it in place that needed to be pushed in so the panel could be lifted and slid back. I could see the panels and all the u shaped ribbons running to the panel itself.

Of course not nomoresonys, dont like giving up, but when its an avenue that I dont travel much and I dont understand things or words. By nature I like to try to fix everything before i throw it away, but my skill level in electronics of this nature is not very high. Ill try to run the updates and all that and see if that helps. I was actually going to try a new Tcon board also just to see. Right now, there is no change in the screen if i unplug the Tcon or leave it plugged in with the ribbon cable coming from the MB.
