There is the possibility; a leak in the gas may not necessary cause the buzz of death.

Welcome back Tom. Here's a YouTube link of what's going on. This is pre purchase of the PSU http://youtu.be/fAayKZH_AHY

could one of your new boards also be faulty?

Check VSON on control board. Note some newer Samsung will not power on with missing X-main, they changed the design unfortunately.

No, VSON on control board to power board. LOW (<0.8V) is Vs/Va on, HIGH (>2V) is Vs/Va off.

Vince I tested all the boards before installing them. Problem is when I have all the boards installed, I get buzzing sound from x-main. Then I end up shorting out the mosfets on both the y and main. And I can't find those fets here or anything comparable. So I have to wait forever to get them shipped from main land China....if I replace the whole Y main, that will be my forth board And third for X-Main. Right now Im on holding pattern until the mosfets come in

Sounds odd. When Vs/Va are active, what does VSON measure?

K, so when the TV shuts off (Vs/Va low), what happens to VSON, does it change?

If your talking about the output volts from the PSU to the logic board, PSon is 4.5v with TV off..and VSON is 0.1. When I turn tv on, PSon is 0v and VSON is 3.3v

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                            Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture

I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply

I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...
