Re: Sony XR-77A80J OLED 5 Blink
maybe less or more depend on yours luck..
you have OLED Cells shorted on the Module... if the short went out... the screen will light complete pattern... its look that the you have blue cells line had short , as you don't get blue.... only 2 lines white... mean at the white lines the blue worked but they are shorted with red and green.. do displaying white... Re: Sony XR-77A80J OLED 5 Blink
PSU on OLED Tvs used only ONE for all TV size... V to T-CON ( main boards are all the same.
but the V to OLED driver which go to T-CON will be different depending on TV size and how much OLED cells build in module ans how much currents they needComment

Re: Sony XR-77A80J OLED 5 Blink
Fire also should be something say before hand lol I was not ready. But no fire. And okay on voltages
The white lines in the middle? Yea they show up and leave randomly. It just cycles the picture shown. Red white green blue back and fourth with small white line randomly in middle of full screenLast edited by EazyBone; 10-27-2023, 11:50 AM.Comment

Re: Sony XR-77A80J OLED 5 Blink
well from my experiences its Module... but the way the line it show from left to write... its T-CON responsible on it... if the lines from top to downside then 100% module... take the risk and replace t-con if its cheap LOLComment

Re: Sony XR-77A80J OLED 5 Blink
Okay, all the lines are left to right. Although that color line is up and down, all the lighting up is all doing left and right lines. No lines are up and down.
Will do, tcon ain't that expensive thank youComment

Re: Sony XR-77A80J OLED 5 Blink
by the way... inspect all 4 ribbon cable under loop from both sides... who knows could some play with them before and damaged them,,, just in case
Note important.. after inspecting you should put them back at same order before... to avoid later line light in imageComment

Re: Sony XR-77A80J OLED 5 Blink
I did look at those as well. I even cleaned them off, appreciate that. Owner did say he didn't do anything at all, looks like had never been opened before. TCON like $45 so gonna go with that option. Thx for all info diah, davi, Sony. This one will go on the wall if it's fixableComment

Re: Sony XR-77A80J OLED 5 Blink
he got V on pin labeled 24V. doesn't mean its 24V LOL... 21-23 V all will be called found V on 24 PIN... at the end mean PSU 100% fine same in this threat..
so do you think he measured 24.0V LOL
if you want to know exact V. the PSU should be stand alone with out any load.. just it alone on tableLast edited by Diah; 10-27-2023, 12:52 PM.Comment

Re: Sony XR-77A80J OLED 5 Blink
its fine.
you can let the tv in original all cable plugged in... lvds etc ribbon... only the socket evdd disconnect it from power boards side then turn on... tv should start and you have the audio optic port lit red and remain on.Last edited by Diah; 10-28-2023, 02:43 AM.Comment

Re: Sony XR-77A80J OLED 5 Blink
if you look on the LVDS down one ( which you disconecct it before and TV remain ON.with black screen ) there are test points ( EVDD_RESET ) this points go high to round 3.3V at time the Tv shutting down because of the SOS signal.
if this points jumper to chassis to remain always low the TV will remain on and you could see the screen on... but in which condition this is the questions..
so if the the points go high.. mean EVDD at the module had short cells tooComment

Re: Sony XR-77A80J OLED 5 Blink
The only way TV turns on as normal is if I disconnect the bottom lvds from main to tcon. Any other combinations of cable disconnect does not allow TV on and throws error code. Gonna report back once I get tcoj on Tuesday and then test voltages. Thx
Edit I reread your message and you realize that cable disc keeps on lol. But yes I'm gonna wait since it's on the way anyway. Let's pray to the panel gods that it's the TCONLast edited by EazyBone; 10-28-2023, 10:35 AM.Comment

by iglitareHi,
i want to repair a Sony KD-75XF9005 TV that initially only showed a grey picture.
Backlight seems to work, Sound (Setup menu after reset) works.
If i dissconnect the left FFC cable from TCON to panel i have half a screen on the right. If left cable is connected always only the grey screen.
Interchanged the cables, its always only the right side that is working. Always grey if left side is connected.
With my small knowledge i would think at least the cables are good.
Can this happen because of a bad tcon board?
Or is it always a bad/shorted... -
by jason123Hi there,
I see a couple of posts related to the troubleshooting of similar TV. The one I have is acting slightly differently and I'd love your help.
So it has the 5 blinks. Previous owner got a TCON, no luck. Got a new Main board (though he didn't do the USB firmware update), again, no improvements.
I see 2 posts that are relevant:

by kcaHello all ~
Hope this finds you well. This LG 82UN8570AUD (April 2021 model) 4K UHD television has full audio capabilities but video is compromised / problematic.
When I picked up this large LG tv it had a full black screen upon startup. Previous owner said it just went black one day. No popping sound or anything else of note.
I got the display to work by taping off several traces of the right-hand side ribbon cable on the TCON that leads from TCON to PANEL. However, despite dozens and dozens of attempts to find the right combination / range of traces taped... -
by thelankanguyThe TV shows a black screen with no image.
TCON ribbon connectors were disconnected individually for image and there was no half image even.
Later both ribbons were disconnected and TCON voltages were tested.
12V, 3.3V, 1.8V were seen present but VONE signal reads 0V.
There is also a short to ground in this circled inductor.
Is this a TCON issue or something else ?... -
by bbrainHi,
I have this problem with my Sony 55' AG9.
It flashes 4x.
I have found the service manual, and seems it is the TCON.
Before I buy a TCON can someone check the vid?
Thanks in advance!... - Loading...
