HP zbook 15 g6 Bios Password

Hello guys!

Ive bought a HP zbook 15 g6 it's work fine but bios is password protected. Now I've bought a Ch341a flasher.
Which chips I have to dump? With the flasher comes a clip, can I use this for dump the bios? I'm beginner thanks for any help!

I believe the BIOS and EC chips are under the plastic (check picture), and for those chips you may be able to use the soic8 clip.

Hi Guys!

Thank you very much for your help. I really appreciate that!
Today I disassembled the zbook and made copies of two chips. have attached a photo of the two chips that I read and saved. I hope they are the right ones. one chip has a 1mb file, the other a 16mb file! verified a lot of times and the files are okay! please correct me if I did something wrong!

Hope someone can delete the password or find out how the password is!

Just saying, it says BIOS there. You need to dump that chip, which is 256Mb in size.

Hello and thank you for your answer! I tried to dump the chip near the Bios word, but the clip either doesn't seem to get a connection there, or asprogrammer ver. 2.0 doesn't support this chip. Do you think I can unsolder and re-solder the chip as a beginner? Or is there another way to modify the clip? I'm afraid if I unsolder the chip I damage the board 😉 and which version of asprogrammer I should use to dump the 256 chip?

Just saying, it says BIOS there. You need to dump that chip, which is 256Mb in size.

finally i have the two dumps. one from bios chip and one from ec. both files are verified and flashrom says VERIFIED!

I hope you or someone else can remove the password.

I´ve download your hptool and use it with bios file. get a unlocked file and flash it to bios.

starting laptop but bios still password protected!

And that's why I said that you need to modify both files. Wait for somebody to modify them for you. I still haven't seen such a new HP yet so I have nothing to test it on.

Possible unlock all new G5 G6 series laptop.New bios is totally different structure about security.

i am also very knowledgeable about hardware, but unlocking this is completely new to me. I don't know where you can or should start there either. I looked at the dumps in the hex editor, but most of it is encrypted. Unlocking the zbook 15 g6 is offered on ebay so there will certainly be a possibility. but sending my laptop from germany to the netherlands is too dangerous for me. I will never see him again afterwards
