Excellent.

Seems like I need to paste the pads on the motherboard and place the programmed chip directly over it then place the torch on it -- I've noticed that when it melts, the package aligns with the pads on the motherboard.
But it doesn't work all the time --when the video should come up, it doesn't, the fan just spins. I'm going to erase twice and see if that helps.

I am using a CH341 Programmer got on ebay for around $10 and you can place the cmos chip in the test clip they supply--its a little tricky but once you get the hang of it works fine.

This client/technicien didn't copy the DMI that's why you face this issue .
Maybe someone gonnag help you here , so be patient

So in this typical case this is how to proceed especially many HP have the DMI in me region .

MUST have the original dump and copy the informations from me region section

yes you must have a originole backup

if not than you have to try many Initialized bios till it get work
otherwise you will suffer from no or late display

As far as I understood, dahnking was able to enter the rest of the data except FeatureByte, that's why I asked for the serial number to give him the FeatureByte data, but as far as I can see he still hasn't posted it.. I've already seen what you're showing but and I don't see how it helps - you see is there a serial number somewhere, cos I don't?

I mistakenly removed the cmos chip before removing the main battery and got an error "unlockable content not available"
Here is the file not sure is it corrupted?

Yes it is.
As I said do yourself a favor and buy a proper tool for the job, continuing to use the clip you showed is just ridiculous, and it won't lead to a successful outcome. That's for sure.
