Help is on the way
@hoaca388 data inspector section takes up a lot of the screen, if you don't use it (I think so) you better close it.
They are not the same, but the right (unlocked) bin should be a little different:Attached FilesLast edited by Vesko356; 02-03-2022, 08:18 AM.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: bios dump elitebook 840 g3
Hello, Anyone willing to share the bios file for the ellitebook 840 G3 which is 8MB? I have an empty read in my rt809f. and obviously I don't have any backup.
I have tried from several files that I can find in this post, But nothing works.
Notes.
- Bios still reads fine as
- General Plus - MX25L6405@SOIC16, capacity: 64Mbits, 8Mbytes.
- blank chip reading
Some of the writing experiments conveyed the message:
059: Chip ID verification OK.
060: Start writing chip......
061: Auto erasing...
062: Erase successful£¬Elapsed time£º19.53 seconds¡£
063: Start writing...
064: Write successful£¬Elapsed time£º106.7 seconds¡£
065: Auto verifying...
066: Chip verification error, start position: 0x1000.
067: Verification failure£¬Elapsed time£º0.162 seconds¡£
068: Status register1 values: 0x40 ¡£
069: Write error, operation terminated.

Re: bios dump elitebook 840 g3
Yes I think it's also wrong on chip selection. And I have tried with the options that I think are correct as in the picture.
I've tried several times with dozens of 8mb bios files I got on this forum. But all display the same error message.
So can someone tell me what's wrong here?Comment

Bios code - MX25L6473fzni
Does it affect my ISP method? I mean, does it have to be completely removed from the board to flash? While this can detect the chip well on the ISP method.Comment

Re: bios dump elitebook 840 g3
Of course there are 8 pins for the bios component. Exactly as in the picture below is the type of bios used on the 840 g3 laptop that I am working on.

Not @SOIC16.

Re: bios dump elitebook 840 g3
What if there is no option for @SOIC8?
in the rtf list many choices only mention @SOP8 / @WSON8 / @VSOP8 and there are also some lists without mentioning them all, only sincere MX25L6405
which one should I choose for some of these lists?
I've tried to select @SOP8 on flashing it worked, but laptop still not working!
In advance, thank you very much to all who have provided feedback here. Very much appreciated.
ThxComment

Re: bios dump elitebook 840 g3
Choose sop8, your laptop has a 16MB chip and an 8MB chip, you have to flash both these chips synchronously. Remember to back up your chip's original file before doing anything.

Re: bios dump elitebook 840 g3
and I think it's a development because laptops give a sign of life. but unfortunately it's still no display and the fan is spinning fast.
I think now the problem is in the bios firmware itself.
so i now need bios files for 8mb and 16mb, if you will share for me, much appreciated. Because I have a lot of mixed files. And the original copy is missing.

by Habble7The Samsung S49CG934SU monitor does not power on - no LED indicator activity and no response to power button. However, when 21V power is connected, it immediately draws 0.8A of current with no display output. The motherboard processor gets warm, and there is continuous reading activity from the W25Q128BV BIOS chip.
Suspected Cause:
I suspect the BIOS may have been corrupted during a power interruption while updating the firmware. The official website provides firmware updates, but they can only be installed via USB flash drive.

by DynaxSCHi, I have an MSI PRO B660M-G DDR4 board with damaged BIOS and i need a bios dump from a real board, along with MAC, UUID and Serial Number info (eg. a BIOS screenshot and pictures from the board stickers).
I need to reconstruct the bios on my board, based on another bios image form a real board - meaning a bios image containing MAC address, UUID and Serial number. A stock BIOS is not suffiecient, as it is impossible to discover where the MAC, UUID and SerialNumber are stored. Tried with a similar board, but there are too much differences, and the stock BIOS is missing a lot of...11-17-2023, 10:56 AM -
by GuestHello,
I have an EliteBook 850 G5. After a Windows update, including a BIOS update, the notebook turns on, but the screen remains black, and the fans spin at high speed—nothing else happens.
I assume the BIOS update failed, so I searched for the BIOS chip.
I found a Winbond chip located between the RAM and the hard drive, which has a size of 32 MB.
However, the BIOS update available on HP's website is only 17 MB in size. I used the update version that was previously installed when the notebook was still working.
Can the corrupted...-

by DynaxSCHi,
I need a BIOS dump for MSI Z590 PRO WIFI from a real physical board, along with MAC address and serial no.
It must be a dump from a physical board, as it contains personalized data eg. MAC Address, UUID, Serial no.
I have a board which has lost the BIOS contents, I have the MAC and serial to this board, and need to insert it into the another BIOS image. To do it, I need to have a real image from a real board, as the images from the MSI site are without this data. The only way to find where MAC/UUID/Serial is located in the BIOS is to have a bios...-
