Don't buy those $10 PSU "specials". They fail, and they have taken whole computers with them.
My computer doubles as a space heater.

Actually I do not gain any enjoyment from such acts, so no - likewise I have never connected a capacitor backwards and let it explode either. Accidental, yes, but fortunately never let it run enough to cause rapid uncontrolled expansion of even fuhjyyus.Comment

i have seen worse looking getters on tubes that showed fine.
hook it back up without the shield and look for arcing .

Even with white stuff on the getter deposits? It's clear. I think all the observations made all point to seal breach. First starting with focus destruction(the electrons hitting air particles makes good sense.)
I can't really test for arcing because the PSU shuts down immediately (and burns fuse) with it hooked up to the CRT. PSU powers up fine only when the CRT is not connected - there's definitely some higher than expected current path through the CRT though an ohmmeter cannot detect (air).
The heater is slowly becoming more resistive over time. This is a clear sign it's burning up, there's no other good explanation other than seal breach.
Thanks for trying to give some hope...though I think there is none left, not to mention I think I actually see glass cracks

Hi guys,
I've got this nice mobo with some CPU bent pins.
Made it to put them back to their position, but one of them was too twisted and broke down.
Anyways none of them are shorting together now.
I had a i3-8100, a DDR4 2400mhz 8GB stick and a power supply, so gave it a try. Power led of the mobo is orange, but when shorting PWR pins, no joy
Made some quick random measurements, 3.3V is present in the PWR button pins, I can see 5V also present.
Measured around SIO chip and 3v are present in some caps.

I managed to get my hands on a rough condition B&K 707 for "the best price" because it was not working. It's my first tube tester and I'm really wanting to get it up and running. I downloaded that manual that has the schematics and tested every resistor and capacitor and replaced the ones that failed. I replaced the missing 83 rectifier tube with a used but tested-good one. I also have a number 80 rectifier tube that I have used in tests before I found the 83 tube.

Hello, I search this connector (oxydated).
It's a fpc zif low profile connector. It come from camera sensor, it is very small : 0.3mm between 2 pins.
I ordered 2 from Aliexpress called « 0.3mm pitch » but one was 0.5mm between 2 pins and the other 0.6mm. In fact « 0.3mm pitch » seams to be the pad width and not the distance between 2 pins.
I can't find it. The other websites like mouser dont show the datasheet, and I can't check if it is 0.3mm between 2 pins ?

Hello,
I am a new forum member. I found a broken MSI motherboard with lot of problems. The other problems need schematic. Because, the missing parts what were breaking down with screwdriver and pliers at a standoff.
So, its actual problem is a missing Vcore and Gnd pins in the CPU socket. My question is that, can it be used safely without these two pins? Only for testing at first, while the other problems will be solved. I would wish repair them later.
