My uncle has an ABS computer, it has been turning itself off after about an hour of use since he had it. He brought it to me this weekend, after checking power supply I noticed it had high cpu temp in the bios. I removed the heatsink and found it had the cheap foil pad on the heatsink, the plastic remove me before use cover over the pad, and a silvery paste on the plastic pad. Someone must of had a few to many the night before :P

Re: I'm laughing at ABS Computer
had one a few days ago that would post and die.
kid who owned it said it started when mom dropped it from the van.
found the hsf laying in the case.the socket lugs had broken off.
found a fancy amd hsf that used the other wide lugs on this socket 370.
told the kid that he was lucky since it was an intel.an amd would have went up in smoke!

Re: I'm laughing at ABS Computer
a bit of advice. dont leave the side panel open. got home one day and found an open baby bottle leaking and the power supply shorted, the mobo blew, the GFX blew, the NIC isnt the same(only got 2.1mbps transfer rate instead of 100.0mbps)and i still am using that busted NIC(now 612 KBPS) and i plan to use the other one that is sitting and collecting dust on top of the rig some day. The HDD FDD and CDD are gone.
Well anyway nice to see another person with that responsibility dont let that crying make you insane. babys cry ALOT
