Metod for removing glued heatsink from fragile component

I have peltir element glued to heatsink with something thick and sticky like putty... it cant be separate with force or heat without risk of breaking ceramic or damaged semiconductor layers due to force (eg if try twisted, pulled, lifted)... method that I am using is a single thread for needle (thin and firm thread of pure polyester that cant break with bare hands without glowes), and using it like a saw between heatsink and peltir. I holding a heatsink with knee against table. It slowly cut throug putty and release glued parts. It is slow proces, but preserve undamaged component and heatsink. Dont try to lift it unless you are completly finished. Be patient

Are you sure that solvent can penetrate enough far, it is a large firm area, putty is based on some silicone/teflon grease with aditives and do not let liquid in... Anyway, who needed may try both, but caution that with nasty chemicals do not destroy element which want to save...

I think a thin guitar string would give a better effect.

Most likely it is Stars-922, heat-conducting (hot melt adhesive).

            Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Seeking Advice on Enhancing Heatsink for Main Processor on SAMSUNG TV Motherboard
            by Ven
            Hello everyone,

I'm looking to upgrade the heatsink on the main processor of my TV's motherboard for better cooling performance.

The current heatsink is a square-shaped one (2.8cm x 2.8cn) with a basic design, and I believe a more efficient heatsink could help with thermal management and potentially extend the life of the TV.

I'd appreciate any advice on the best type of heatsink to use, specific product recommendations, and tips for installation.

If you've done a similar upgrade, I'd love to hear about your experience and any challenges you...

recently struggled to remove BL0202 backlight chip
which had red residue of glue underneath
as well as annoying laquer over the top and surrounding area.
i had to use more heat than i like to remove it
which can cause bubbling of the bcb
i used two different types of flux, but it was the glue causing the problem .
just wondered if anyone has had this problem ,and if there is any solvent that may loosen the glue before desoldering?
(some vestel fets are also glued the same way)
            this was on a LG47 LB585V,
            I had replaced the led...

Question about removing the BIOS lock
            by mustardcheese
Hi all, I have a Dell Latitude 7300 with a locked BIOS and I was curious about the process of removing the lock by editing the hex values of the bin and how to do it. Is editing the hex values of the dumped bios any different than flashing a new one that's already been unlocked? (I currently don't have the correct bin because I realize I accidentally dumped the wrong thing). I am very new to this any help or advice or references would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
