Thank you Dark Angel. I liked this method. I'd like to try.
Thank you pc_okay. Really good method. Drilling the bottom of the case is my next option.
I want to try the molten plastic method in my first message, but the nail acetone I have at home didn't work. I'll also buy pure acetone if I know it will work....

CMOS battery holder solder pad trace
Hi,
I will add a photo of HP 15 laptop mainboard. The positive side of CMOS battery holder solder pad has been broken. What I want to ask is, the trace of positive pole. If you look at the photo, you will notice red color "A" and "B" letters for two different shades of blue.
Anybody help?...

Hm, I get that. It seems I'm not so lucky with GPUs, laptops, etc. Let me ask you something I don't understand. As far as I know, the contact balls are made of lead-free or less leaded (not sure) materials. And these materials should not melt at 200 degrees C and lower. So what's going on with the 200 degrees oven bake GPU solution? Thank you again.

Thank you. In my case this is a "contact issue". I have wrote this. Also, my card has an AMD gpu chip. In the other hand, I have another laptop with another problematic graphics card. I have bought it as used and I believe the buyer was know it has a faulty GPU (8600M GS). Just like what DynaxSC mentioned here. At the end, I'm heating that card approx in once every 3-4 months for 1-2 years. And I have another laptop which is also has another display issue. It's gpu is shorted and that is completely dead. I don't think to heat that. Neither in a BGA machine nor in an owen.

Thank you for your time. I really grateful. This is only a MXM-2 type standalone GPU card for a laptop. I have tried to heat in owen (~200C) but failed. Then a professional saved it with a BGA heater but for 4 months. Approx 4 times BGA reflow will cost a card. So I wanted to try it again with a liquid flux. If I failed, won't try again, else happy end. But I definetely won't as high 254 C temps. Anyways, I appreciate the experience, knowledge and equipment of professionals. That's why I'm here.

Liquid flux in kitchen owen
I will heat a graphics card in kitchen owen and will use a little liquid flux on it. I probably won't use that small owen for cooking pupose but want to ask if someone tried the same thing. Thank you.

Hello,
Did you try to hard reset? Remove the charger, take out the battery, press and hold the power button for 30-60 sec then plug the charger and try to power up again.

Graphics Card mounting frame
Hello, I removed the graphics card from my laptop and I want to heat it in the oven. What I want to ask is, is it okay to heat the card without removing the metal mounting frame on it?
As you can see in the photo, there is a plastic (black) gasket between the metal frame and the card. It sticks the frame tightly to the card.
I previously removed the metal frame while heating it, but it is quite difficult to separate it from the surface it is attached to. If there is no problem, I do not want to remove it.
What worries me right now is the possibility that...

Re: What for this SOP8 apparatus?
OK, I already did it with a U shape (for bios chip). I will try it after find a scrap board.
I liked your idea, solution. I hope my 40W solder iron could be enough. Thank you dear harp.

Re: What for this SOP8 apparatus?
This video is perfect. Very helpful. That fishing line trick is also wonderful. Thank you. BTW, my SOIC8 clip spurs looking terrible
This is another good one. However, I can not understand those subtitles. In fact, I tried to make the same thing with a 2.5mm dia wire but looking a bit oversize. Thanks again....

Re: Asus X52JT Bios Dump
Thank you very much. You're great. OK, I will but actually do it with the help of a technician. I do not have enough tools and experience.
I especially won't forget the help of you, ala_borbe, the moderators of this forum and other helpful members. Kind regards......

Re: Asus X52JT Bios Dump
Thanks for your interest and help. I'll keep this file in mind, but it's not the model on the motherboard label. I prefer the one that suits my model.
I wonder, if something go wrong while cleaning the ME Region?...

Re: Asus X52JT Bios Dump
My device model is K52JT-SX172R. When I bought this it seemed to have K52JU in the bios but it was working. The only problem was that the fan was constantly running at maximum speed. The bios file attached to the post above (https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=120827&d=1445162421) solved the fan issue. But now I have a battery problem.
I wonder if cleaning ME Region in the bios file may have caused this battery issue? Can we check a value in the bios file that may be the cause of this problem with the hex...Last edited by Kemer; 06-19-2023, 04:26 PM.
