Seeking Advice on Enhancing Heatsink for Main Processor on SAMSUNG TV Motherboard

    Hello everyone,

I'm looking to upgrade the heatsink on the main processor of my TV's motherboard for better cooling performance.

The current heatsink is a square-shaped one (2.8cm x 2.8cn) with a basic design, and I believe a more efficient heatsink could help with thermal management and potentially extend the life of the TV.

I'd appreciate any advice on the best type of heatsink to use, specific product recommendations, and tips for installation.

If you've done a similar upgrade, I'd love to hear about your experience and any challenges you faced.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I have a small second hand TV, that I rarely used as a filming monitor. When I open it for initial cleaning and inspection, I noticed that for main IC is used very small heatsink which was directly glued on IC (just like on yours), not side suport on pcb whatsoever... On other side of pcb, the board was starting browning from heat, so, any mess around with glued heatsink or IC is not anymore option due to pobably ripped pad under bga... I use a small thin turbine (side type, with partialy housing) fan from old graphics card like attachment and connect it to usb power, so it is on while is TV on, and stay on a couple minutes after shuts down. It is not too loud, because work on half of power. I fixing it very closely and hope it lower some degree more. All other options is too risky to me, because TV is still in working condition, and if I screw it up, there is nothing good... better to do nothing.

I picked up a top of the line LG plasma for free which was in mint condition, but had a failed chip on the mainboard. All I did was reflow the BGA with a heat gun, and added a fan to the chip which I found a 12V take off point somewhere off the power supply. The BGA problem is well known on this TV, but after the heatgun trick it's been holding just fine for the last 4+ years. So well worth it to add the extra cooling IMO as it minimizes the thermal stresses on the chip on each on/off cycle.

Seeking Advice: Repairing Dell U3425WE Monitor with Faulty USB-C/Thunderbolt Ports
          by Borse2008
          Hi everyone,

Looking for some advice or opinions on what to do with a monitor issue I’ve run into. Apologies in advance is this crossovers a few forum categories.

I have a Dell U3425WE, which I've recently replaced with another model. That said, the original unit is still fully functional in terms of the display — it works perfectly over HDMI and DisplayPort. However, the USB-C and Thunderbolt 4 ports have stopped functioning correctly. The Issue:
          • The 90W Thunderbolt 4 port (circled in the photo) no longer charges or powers any device, including laptops or MacBooks.
          • There’s

Is it possible to upgrade from a Vestel 17MB97 main board to a 17MB110 Main board?
          by cheeky2
I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

Samsung 59" plasma PN59D550C1F seeking advice on mystery power board issue
          by Cooperr
I picked up this TV from Facebook Marketplace, original owner described it as "screen went black after a pop" and I hoped to see an obvious fuse or cap to replace. Doesn't seem to be the case, but my experience and electrical knowledge are kind of limited for this.

The power board (BN44-00445A, see attached) turns on and Vs and Va seem to momentarily have power, then they steadily drain to zero over a minute or two as if they're only getting power from capacitors. I've been measuring Vs and Va from the test pads, with and without the other boards connected to the power board...

The set is not turning on, when buttons on the front are pressed the button press sound is coming from the speakers, but the set is not trying to turn on, consuming only couple of watts.

I am troubleshooting a Vestel 17PW26-5 from the set. Not sure how it is supposed to turn on main supply, but with the main board disconnected not getting the main supply to turn on either.

Standby supply is working, PFC is working (390V), but the main supply is dead. Checked the mosfets and driving transistors and found they are not shorted and showing a diode junction. The suspicious...
