You must have a sad, sad boring life if you hate on people harmlessly enjoying life with an animal costume.
Sometimes you need to break shit to fix it.... Thats why my lawnmower doesn't have a deadman switch or engine brake anymore

A "one-click," permanent update for crashplayer:
"One-click" is good; makes it easy for those who have "difficulty" finding and removing unwanted "options," if ya know what I mean... Though, if you wanted to remove and avoid anything, you'd never install crashplayer in the first place.

JS apps inside the HTML (instead of "classes" or "packages") and people wonder why the hell they need 4 quad core I7s to "put up with" fuckyoutube?!

And that sloppy, CPU-wasting HTML5 only exists to steal crashplayer's market, not to actually function optimally.

You can guarantee that google's gonna eventually fuck up the interfacing to webgl. So what if webgl talks to the video card as if it were opengl! You'll see wasted cycles, not with opengl itself, but with the boat that takes us to webgl. And that's if I believe that google/FF doesn't completely degrade their webgl implementation, in order to "upsell" their competing solutions.
This should be obvious, since even the "fully ad-enhanced" youtoob one ran on P3-class systems.
With IE6.
As much as there is hype about interfacing to the video subsystem, this isn't the main issue. You know this already; shitty code that gets a pass because it just happens to be OSS (lousy browsers and excessive amounts of JS calling even more JS[youfail comments, for example]) is not the answer.
This is all going to hit a wall, just like Prescott did. There are only so many ways to optimize power-hungry, long-pipeline architecture; the same goes for the "web of excess."
And providing an "alternate experience" that's dumbed down, such as for mo-beel fones, is hardly an answer.Last edited by kaboom; 07-15-2015, 05:38 PM."pokemon go... to hell!"

And code leaks randomly load one core to 100%?
What the hell is that?
On a dual core, one is fully loaded; perhaps on a quad core, two (or three!) get fully loaded.

Re: Flashplayer
This whole debacle made me switch youtube to the html5 video viewer.
The whole "experience" used to be crap but it seems these days it works great.
Already had Flash disabled by default with the "Flashblock" extension, enabling it on various websites when needed only. Makes browsing faster.

Re: Flashplayer
i followed the bullshit when html5 was being developed.
it was 5% software and 95% political bullshit with constant attempts at DRM and vendor-lock.
Opera rep's wanted stuff that was copywrite free and open like OGG, MS and Apple wanted closed source stuff they held patents on with loads of DRM in it.
the result is the mess you have now.

Re: Flashplayer
I'm still using Flash-without-crash Player 10.3 on most of my PCs
As far as I know, no one has "taken" or "possessed" my computer due to security "holes". And YouTube still runs okay on old Pentium 4 systems.
Fuck patching and updating. Stay way out of date, and no one will care to make a virus for you
. Kind of like wearing crappy clothes in the ghetto - no one will care to rob you because you just look too poor and not worthwhile.

Re: Flashplayer
Well I don't know about other idiots but I don't have time to check for the latest version of every bit of software on my computers, I'm too busy using them and doing other things in life. That's why I'm grateful that FF disabled it for me until a proper update was available.
