Re: lenovo yoga 3 14"
I tried removing U101
Didn't improve things unfortunately
It still won't start with battery connected
Only improvement it'll now start with power button, instead of having to use Novo button
Prerequisite still have to disconnect battery, then hold button while switching charger on
Win10 does detect a USB key though, a function I expected to lose with removal of U101
Everything else still the same as described in my original thread:

Re: Lenovo Yoga 3-14 80JH won't power up if battery connected
I've now removed the motherboard, to find it's a BTUU1 NM-A381 Rev:1.0
So now I'm following-up here: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpost.php?p=1259636&postcount=13Re: Lenovo Yoga 3-14 80JH won't power up if battery connected

Re: lenovo yoga 3 14"
Have you replaced U101 yet?
If it fixed the problem, would you please provide a URL for the replacement IC...

Lenovo Yoga 3-14 80JH won't power up if battery connected
Only way this will power up is disconnect battery from motherboard JBATT1, attach charger, then while keeping Novo button pressed, switch charger on
Once it's going, if I reconnect battery it will charge, and Win10 will eventually show 100% charged
I can also reboot Win10, which happens normally
But if I shutdown Win10, I have to repeat above performance to get it going again
FWIW, Win10 is a clean install starting from secure erase of SSD:

Re: Toshiba Tecra OS issue
FWIW you can EN-2017-001022-002-BIOS.EXE /EXTRACT
But Dog knows what you need to run from the extracted files
As you observed: "Toshiba is crazy"
If mine, I'd try Win7 32-bit and see if the BIOS update works with that

Re: Toshiba Tecra OS issue
Why not just update it to 6.90 using Toshiba's EN-2017-001022-002-BIOS.exe ?

Tip:
I boot MX Linux 19.4 (version before current 21.2) from a USB key
I found 21.2 doesn't wake cleanly from Suspend, if necessary to reset SSD security Frozen by doing so
Edit:
I just discovered Corsair MP600 is an NVME drive
Above won't work on NVME drives

Firmware for DynaStore 480GB SSD
HDTSP480TSBTLC
Details gleaned from Linux:
Phison Driven OEM SSD
Firmware: SAFM01.7
Originally marketed by Toshiba Australia, now seems an unsupported orphan, given Toshiba's storage division separated as Kioxia, and Toshiba's PC division as DynaBook (owned by Sharp), but neither acknowledge it
I'd like to update its firmware to latest before reusing, but no success finding an update, even trying other manufacturers using similar named firmware
Can anyone help?

You have something similar to mine, which needed quite an effort to achieve

Re: Dell password for Hynix SC210
I did restore SC210 into original E7250
A bit disconcerting that suffix of lock message had changed from 2A7B to 1F66
Anyway I generated another password using https://beta.bios-pw.org/
This too was accepted with Ctrl&Enter from notebook keyboard, but unlike when SSD was in E6330, "Secure Erase in Progress" took two or three minutes
And when E7250 was rebooted, there was no error message and Dell BIOS Security showed Primary...

Re: Dell password for Hynix SC210
Thank you to everyone who participated
I am making progress
Now have generated a password using https://beta.bios-pw.org/ (thanks SMDFlea) which is accepted with Ctrl&Enter from notebook keyboard
But even though I see "Secure Erase in Progress", the Lock message returns when it reboots
Noting imramromi's advice, tomorrow I'll put the SSD back in its original E7250, try again, and report backRe: Dell password for Hynix

@hoaca388 I've now tried it, after reading your suggestion
@bachir2004 Thank you for the effort
Regretfully none of them work, trying both notebook keyboard and external keyboard...
