    Firefox is now SATANIC

Now that I have your attention:

In the last few days, it looks like Firefox has changed their software terms so they are now evil and WILL sell your data.

I already use Palemoon for Win7 sometimes. Looks like I'll be switching to librewolf as well, as Youtuber Louis Rossman suggests. Palemoon still supports Win7, but sometimes pages don't work properly. The Google Chrome browser might also still work for Win7.

I will have no choice but to upgrade my Firefox, so that I can copy dozens of tabs into a document or spreadsheet, or go through the history to find some Youtube videos that I want to keep as a bookmark. But yes, I am DEFINITELY going to need to "wind down" my Firefox usage.

I'll have to try Librewolf for Linux. I have been dual-booting since the days of Caldera Linux / Win 3.1, so this will not be a problem. Years ago I used Linux about 99% of the time. Recently I have used Win7 about 99% of the time. Now, it looks like things will be swinging back to Linux. I might take this opportunity to upgrade from Mint 18.3 KDE in the next week or so.

(Honestly, growing up in the 1970s, there were two things you did NOT want to be accused of. Being a communist, and being a satan-worshipper. And calling Firefox "satanic" might be like a toddler "throwing a tantrum", but I don't care. I think the term fits here.)

    YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

they have sold your data for a very long time, the new license terms are just clarifying it because of a new law in california.
if your on Linux try FALKON.

and learn how to remove google apps and framework (GSF/ GPx) from a locked android phone.

        Win7 Emulation in Linux
        by Hondaman
If I install Win7 in VirtualBox or KVM, will Windows be tied to that exact hardware? Can I take the VM and move it to another machine at some point without having to re-activate Win7?

I bought a replacement board identical to the one Win7 is licensed on. But of course it failed. I have two more identical boards in my basement. Running out of acceptable hardware will not happen for quite a few years, hopefully.

But I am looking forward to that day when I cannot find any hardware, and I have to use emulation. Does anyone have experience with this?

        USB problems?
        by Hondaman
Recently I discovered my SSD died (OCZ/Toshiba 240 GB). It was in a USB enclosure, attached to the Linksys WRT-AC1200 router. Since then I removed the USB enclosure and attached it to my Win7 PC (AMD 8150 CPU, 970 chipset, 64 GB RAM). I also gathered one or two other USB enclosures to figure out what is going on.

(I suspect that I lost quite a few MP3 and FLAC files I recently ripped from my audio CDs, I think I lost very little un-replaceable stuff.)

I think it is IMPOSSIBLE for Win7 to have any problems with a USB enclosure as long as Win7 knows how to speak to the...

        win7 home iso? can I get 10?
        by eccerr0r
Well I think that I have a GTX660Ti that's dead but I think I should give it one last try with its original OS and drivers: win7 home premium. While I can't stomach using win* of any type (I'm 100% Linux these days) I think I have to give benefit of the doubt to drivers, etc.

So... I have the original CoA for Win7 home premium and it's an OEM license. And I have the whole computer that the GTX660Ti came in (it was reportedly working too), minus the original hard drive, what could I download and run the machine temporarily to verify the GTX660Ti works with Windows or not?

        Hello,

this is a very strange Problem:

Notebook hang instantly on Boot. BIOS is accesable.
Windows: instant after showing "loading circle", even Windows Boot Stick hang instant (even without installed SSD/NVME )
Linux: instantly (if Linux Boot in leagacy Mode with log messages: Machine Check exception after 0.25 sec)

        i have tried:
        - only one RAM Stick, another working RAM, both RAM channel
        - BIOS Flash to newest Version F.50, BIOS Reset
        - Memtest86 hang instant at Test 2

Requests to Intel Flash Programming Tool for Linux Ubuntu x86_64
        by tsavpyn
        Dear all,
I forgot my BIOS password of my Surface Pro 3, I searched for solutions for a long time and knew that by using FPT to dump my bios to bin file and using decryptor, I can get my BIOS password.
Now I have a problem that I am unable to dump my BIOS into bin file.

My Surface Pro 3 currently runs on Ubuntu 22.04, with Secure Boot enabled and Boot From SSD Only.

I searched for FPT but there is no Linux version and none of them work.
I hereby request a copy of Intel Flash Programming Tool for Linux x64.
I would really appreciate it if anyone...
