    PSU Main Capacitor replacement tips.

I have an Cooler Master m1000 RS A00 ESBA Real power.

Some caps on the filtering side at the 12v 5v rail has started to bulge (The PSU is over 8 years old) so I am about to change every cap tomorrow. I will go for Panasonic for all (low esr and high ripple res)

But my two maincaps are 420v 270uf (m) are Nippon Chem-con and can't be found here in my store (Elfa). I was looking into 450v 270uf Panasonic but they cost a lot and are discontinued. Any suggestion what to replace them with ? (those cost around 13 euro each at Elfa in Sweden)

    Best Regards Jonas

Rubycon and Nichicon are the only other company's making decent high voltage caps.
Nichi's are cheaper btw, Rubicon cost a fortune for some reason!

Thanks for your reply. I will wait with those and just change all other caps since some starts to be in critical condition and order the others next month.

Unless they've tested as bad, the primary caps are probably fine. They rarely fail in PSUs in my experience, certainly nowhere near as often as the ones on the output side. NCC is a good brand too.

UCC are good - if you can get them.
in Europe there arent many suppliers - maybe the u.s. is different.

                LOL
Digikey has a 50 minimum order value or heavy delivery charges in Europe.
so a lot of us completely avoid them - RS usually has no minimum and Farnell has a minimum of 20

You already have Chemi-Cons in the unit as I understand it, why exactly do you want to replace them??
