Checking the schematics the photo seems to be of a corona revision that is why the package is different. My revision is trinity. And the package type is definitely SOT 23 as you can see in the schematic photo I provided.
correction to what I put above. The chip that was shorted is actually the 5v to 1.8v NOT the 5v to 3.3 like originally stated....Leave a comment:

Unfortunately the attachment via web or file Wasn't working yesterday on this website for some reason hence why I tried to describe it instead.
Markings on the shorted ic are ADLRSQ. I don’t have a microscope camera so I can’t get a picture of the ic with the markings visible.
Board number and sticker photos attached.Leave a comment:

Xbox 360 slim trinity 5v to 3.3 regulator part number?
Hi all,
does anyone know the part number for the 5v to 3.3v regulator to the Xbox 360 slim trinity board? It’s the sot 23 package directly in front of the fan connector.
I’ve checked the schematics but the part number it gives seems to be a Xbox specific part number so google has no results for it.
board I’m looking at had it shorted. 2.1 ohms to ground on its output. Removing it and the short is gone.
thanks for the assistance -
Ok turns out the no power super slim had a shorted WIFI module. Removing it has removed the short but it still has no standby light. I checked the WIFI regulator since people note that as a common fault and it is not shorted.
I checked the PSU with it plugged into the board and 5VSB = 5.5V, ACDC_STBY = missing and reading 2.2K to ground, & ACIN_DET = 5.22V,
What is the bare minimum parts for PS3s (all models) to turn on? It would be nice to bench test the board with just the PSU but not sure whether they should turn on or not without a disc drive, power button, fan,...Leave a comment:

Playstation 3 phat, slim and super slim resource search
Hi All,
I recently got a bunch of faulty/partially faulty PS3s and wanted to get some advise on them. Models are:
X4 are PS3 slims with disc drive errors.
X1 is a PS3 slim with the 8002F1F9 update error.
X1 is a ps3 slim with no display.
X1 is a slim with RLOD
X1 is a super slim with a missing disc drive and receiving the same update error 8002F1F9 (I'm assuming because it needs it's drive)?
X1 is another super slim with no power (board number MPX-001).
Does anyone know of any good resources that list parts interchangeability?... -
Thanks for the advice. The heat mats can only go up to 120 Celsius, haven't seen one that goes higher than that. So most likely wont be enough but it's better than nothing.
I managed to remove the socket no problems, but holly crap it took a ton of heat! Shocked how much these sockets can take it does not even look slightly singed. Not a single ripped pad either shockingly..... Until stupid me ripped a few pads while wicking, I really need to get rid of this gootwick crap! I do not understand how people use it, it's more keen to open it's legs than a lady of the night.
It's...Leave a comment:

Highly doubt it's not a socket issue as this was a brand new board we were using for a new build, and have already done the troubleshooting on it. It wont be a PCIE/GPU issue as we tried a non F CPU (i5 12400) and it still had the same issue. I can see multiple bent pins hence why I went to the socket replacement. Could still be a board fault but highly unlikely....Leave a comment:

Yeah I know, that's exactly why I do not want to invest too much into equipment to assist with it. TBH this boards pretty cheap as well, $130 for a new one so yes it's not worth it.
That's not why I'm doing it though. I'm doing it as a learning experience to try improve my skills. The boards dead. 6 beeps and wont post. So what's the worst that can happen? It will be a good learning exercise and was hoping to get some do's and don'ts so I can give myself the best chance at it working first time.
Instead of screwing up the 2 sockets I bought and me wanting to buy more of them...Leave a comment:

LGA 1700 Socket Replacement Tips & Tricks
Hi All,
Just wanted to see if I can get some advice on techniques and equipment I should use to try replace the socket on a Gigabyte H610M h v2ddr4 I have.
I was planning on using a heat mat I have that's used for phone, tablet screens, as a base heater than use hot air with a square nozzle on top. Yes I should get a proper preheater but I'm not in the position to go spend 300+ bucks on something I will use every 6 months if I'm lucky. Next expense I need to get is a decent programmer like the RT809H but again it would get used infrequently so hard to justify.

Understood, thank you everyone for the info. Still waiting on PCB Way to approve my order so I can order that PSU tester I linked to. Is it normal for a order to be "in review" for almost 2 weeks now?Leave a comment:

Testing ATX PSUs under load - Does loading the ATX 24 pin also load EPS & PCIE?
Hi Folks,
Just wanted to clear up a misunderstanding of mine (or what I expect is one). Isn't the 12V rail from the 24 pin, EPS and PCIE separated? IE if I put a power resistor on the ATX 12V pin that is not going to load, thus tell me if the EPS or PCIE rails are fine?
I was recently watching ArIs from Hardware Busters video on how to properly test ATX PSUs without using 5 figure Croma substations.
The PCB adapter he used breaks out the 12, 5 and 3.3V pins from the 24 pin and gives you banana plugs to connect to. That is a bit useless is it not? Aren't... -
No, 53.6K. And thats both on this board and on the other board that was working.Leave a comment:
