On your original board the +12v was 11.6 and the +24 volts measured 19.7 volts, What do you measure on the replacement board for the +12v and the +24v?

Did you replace everything in the repair kit? maybe re-check your solder work. https://www.shopjimmy.com/vizio-adtv...r-m502i-b1.htm

Maybe check ALL the diodes and the solder joints of CN9101 connector and check all the solder joints on the board, maybe use a magnifying glass.

R_J, the voltages for both boards are the same....11.6 volts and 19.7 volts. When holding the power button for 30 seconds to drain power on both boards, when plugged back in, the replacement board powers up but the original board does not.

nomoresonys, I did replace everything in the repair kit except the main power fuse. The original fuse checks ok. I checked solder joints also.

With the new powerboard in are you still getting that 1.1v low reading on the ps_on? I think I would be tempted to check every capacitor on that faulty board.

The 1.1 volt reading was only on the old board when it wouldn't power on. So, is there a possibility that the voltage regulator might be defective?

What is the pin number on CN9101 that you measure 1.1 volts?

                      R_J, that would be pin #2 - on/off.

Pin#2 has nothing to do with the operation of the power supply, it simply connets CN9101 pin#2 to CN9102 pin#12 and is the inverter on/off There are a couple mlcc caps on that line and an inline resistor, R9102, check that the resistor does'nt have bad solder connections

Thanks R_J. The solder joints look ok. What I don't understand is why would disconnecting the cable at the power supply from the main board, and reconnecting it cause the power to return? Could it be a resistor, cap, ic,
transistor causing this. Also after reconnecting the cable to the power supply, the standby light flashes twice and then it takes about 15 to 20 seconds to come on. Sorry for all this. But I do appreciate the help.

If nobody has anymore ideas, I might just give up on it. I was just trying to offset some of the cost of the replacement power supply board.

Maybe try heating the caps with a hairdryer, see if tv comes on or comes on any faster.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                            Hi everyone,

I am trying to fix a samsung washinmachine power supply main board.
I already replaced it with another one to fix the machine but i want to try understand the issue with the old board.
Therefore i hope to be able to get some help to explain what to check in order to troubleshoot.

                                            Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue

                                            Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Modification to a ZD-987 desoldering/soldering station using a external switching power supply

I have been working on this concept for quite some time now with limited success but recently I found a switching power supply that is setup for the voltage that this soldering station needs to operate at however it also needs part of the secondary circuit from the original switching power because you need several voltage rails

I once tried to get a ZD-915 desoldering station to work on a 18 volt battery power supply but unfortunately things did not go well but I did find a work around but I might try this idea again but going at a little differently more about this another time...

Definitive technology SC 2000 subwoofer amp's power supply clicking and popping
                                            by JimBanville
The sub developed a constant popping every couple seconds from woofer and power LED flickering with nothing but wall AC connected. Connecting an audio cable didn't change anything. It doesn't play but a second or two of audio in between the pops.
Opened it up and discovered the power supply is making a faint clicking or ticking sound.
I measured the amp's output to the woofer and it pulses up to 50mv DC to be driver. The pulses coincide with the power supply ticking/clicking.
I measured the power supply output going to the amp board and it too has this pulsing. Voltage cycles...
