I want to thank you guys for your help. I finally got the tv disassembled and found the diffuser sheets would not clean up, just like EazyBone said. So, I trashed it after taking out the boards. At least I got some practice removing the screen since it had no bezel, which I had never done before. Thanks again for all you guys help! I very much appreciate it!

Sorry for so many questions. What kind of glue do you use for the screen. Also, what do you use to clean all the old double-sided tape off?

Oh, by the way. Do you guys have a link or suggestion as to the double sided tape I should use when I install the screen back in the tv?

Do I need to put some kind of solution on it to help melt the adhesive? I saw a video where he was using something called CTC which I cannot find. He also said thinner could be used but he didn't say what type of thinner.

The tv's I've done in the past had a plastic bezel that just popped off for the most part. This tv has a thin metal bezel, if you can even call it a bezel compared to the ones 4 or 5 years ago. This panel is apparently held in by 2 sided tape. I've searched for a video to show how to remove the panel but couldn't find one.

Thank you Diah! I will give that a try. Can you or anyone tell me the procedure for the screen removal on this tv since it has no bezel.Last edited by JunkmanJimbo; 04-01-2024, 01:44 PM.

Samsung un65ks9500fxza water damaged
I have a Samsung un65ks9500fxza that was rained down on by an apartment sprinkler system. The tv plays but has white images on the screen. As far as I know the tv has dried completely out. This is an edge lit tv and I assume it will need new backlight strips considering the black stripe in the middle of the screen. Does anyone have any opinions whether this tv can be saved? I have included pictures. Thanks in advance!4 PhotosLast edited by JunkmanJimbo; 04-01-2024, 11:28 AM.

Re: JVC lt-42em73 Flashing Backlights
I actually found a power supply board at a good price. I received the board yesterday and that fixed the problem. Thank you to all of you for the help!...

Re: JVC lt-42em73 Flashing Backlights
The capacitors I replaced had the value printed on them. Only the vent caps don't have a value.

Re: JVC lt-42em73 Flashing Backlights
You're probably right. This board has vent capacitors with no value listed on them. How can I determine the value of these capacitors?

Re: JVC lt-42em73 Flashing Backlights
I checked the solder at the backlight plugs and they are fine. I disassembled the tv again and checked the backlights again. Removed everything down to the backlights, plugged in the tv and the backlights will flash once and go out. I tried another set of good backlights and they wouldn't even come on at all. So at this point I believe the problem is the power supply board. As I mentioned earlier, I replaced some bulging caps but apparently there's something else wrong with it. Sorry for the delay in responding but I haven't had the time to...

Re: JVC lt-42em73 Flashing Backlights
After the backlights are on and flashing for a short time, they go out. I can unplug the power cord and plug it back in and it will do the same thing.

JVC lt-42em73 Flashing Backlights
First I replaced the backlights. Then I found three bulging capacitors, one leaking, on the power supply board. Now, when I turn on the tv, the picture flashes with an image and then the picture goes away. I can unplug the tv and plug it back in, turn it on and the same thing happens. Please help. Thanks!

Re: Vizio D32h-f4 will not update
I never did find a fix for it. I finally gave up. Good luck on finding a fix.

Re: RCA led50b45rq tv backlights flash then shuts down
Thank you, nomoresonys, and the rest of you guys that helped me.
I did find and replaced the bad led this morning. I turned on tv and the backlights stayed on. But, unfortunately while working on the tv yesterday, I cracked the screen and didn't realize it. So, this one is going to the land field. Thanks again for all your help.
