Samsung PN60E530 plasma tv power on issue

hi

when plugged in you can hear the samsung startup jingle and i can see various lights on the boards.. the screen is black..no image of any sorts

the standby light just flashes and then goes off....no green or blue pwr light comes on

i test voltages coming out of power supply and they all seem good

if i try to hit the power switch on the tv the standylight just flashes and goes off

any ideas?

Pictures ? Of all the boards might help you more to solving your issue

Yes mate there aren't a lot of clairvoyants on this forum and all they have really got from this is the set trys to start but doesn't and you think the voltages are all ok from power board. There are a number of tests you should do e.g. see other samsung plasma posts this page.

thank you here are a few photos ob back of my tv....seems they use way less compoennets than they did back in 2006 model plasma tvs

i even unplugged all the boards and still cant get power on light to come on

when tv is plugged in the samsung jingle immediatley plays and thats it

hitting the power button after this does nothing but cause front led to flash red everytime you push the button..

there is no power light on front of tv....no image....

ill do some more testing of voltages when i can...

hi ok i did some more voltage testing

when i power tv on with remote the samsung jingle comes on ..apparently this tv does not have a blue or green power on light on front of tv....the standy light just blinks a few times when you power it on and then goes away..

anyways here are some voltages i tested just now when power tv on..

vs from ps starts normal then slowly goes to zero
va from ps starts normal then slowly goes to zero

can someone tell me where the vscan on y and ve on z test points are in my pics if you

can see...

also logic board green light flashes every 6 seconds....i saw another post that says this means bad y ..or y buffer or z

voltage test if i unplug the power to z board (which also powers off to y board since z feeds y)

when i power tv on i hear the samsung jingle but the green light on logic board stays off and when i test voltages i get

vs=0
va=0
standby=0

update...i have been looking at a few other posts on this model ...

if i unplug power to y and also the flat ribbon cable to y .....the tv powers on with samsung jingle and the logic board now blinks every 1 second

voltages
vs=not sure...when i test it now it shows "out of limits" ...shows up as 1 on far left of cheap harbopr freight multimeter....i use 1000v setting since its suppose to be 211 volts

va=good 57v

im thinking this is a y or y buffer issue

Yes the tests now done give good reason to suspect y side problem. Check y main for short. Samsung boards generally in good supply at reasonable prices.

thank you im thinking y also but it seems from research i have done that this is a very common issue with y board....

3 bad ceramic caps and 1 bad ic

very common..so common they sell the kit on ebay lol

cheap enough to buy the parts and try it..so i will look

Have you also tested the y buffers for shorts?

Update...replaced 3 blue caps on yours..tv now powers on ok with picture

Did not replace the ic....didn't need to

There is a slight issue with top of screen grainy....will reseat y buffers....

Or maybe buffer issue...but tv does power on good now and logic board is flashing every second now which means ok

Correction replaced 3 blue caps on ysus ....damn iPad auto fill lol
