40" RCA L40FHD41 No Picture + No Audio

This TV turns on for a sec before it turns black, so far:

flashlight to TV screen shows image being shown (good thing for t-con right?)

I also connected laptop to it via HDMI and TV is by default on 'HDMI 1 setting'

It makes video on laptop really slugish while hdmi is connected to the TV, and the audio is only pops/noise coming from TV

What should i be looking for?

The TV is disassembled and its kind of a project for me for an extra TV in the house and to practice fixing more things

Elsewise the TV has little value

Need good clear straight on pictures of back of tv with cover off and each board.
Do you get any flash on screen when you first turn it on?

The blue ones? Are they all supposed to be flat? I looked for bulged caps but thought bad caps would be even more bulged than these.

Also I know the main board functions with the power board, do you think one is the culprit of the other failing? I'm a beginner so excuse me, but, it seems like the capacitors swelling and going bad is pretty common, do you suppose I can fix the board? I can solder

I would replace all caps at top of board. I see at least 5 bad ones. Also they don't have to be bulged to be bad. Changing caps is easy and not to expensive.

By all caps do you mean the cylindrical molded ones and the flat blue plastic ones, or literally every single capacitor even the non-blue ones? I don't 100% know what every component is or isn't a capacitor...

change out the ones i marked in orange and if you don't have access to an esr meter, change out the ones that are marked in green.

make sure you get low esr, 105 degree caps.

They look to be 35v & 16v 1000 micro farad caps

So only invest in the battery cell capacitors and not the disk ones?

Yes just the cylindrical ones that attainteddragon marked. That are polarized when you go to replace the neg. goes towards wide band on board.

So i replaced all 8 capacitors and tv still doesn't work, i don't know how to test everything with a multimeter tool, although, i do have one.

TV is turning on, half of screen is blue, the other half is black.

Then it just turns off after a sec...

There is one more big capacitor at the bottom left, its 450 volts...

looks a tiny bit bulged, but wasn't replaced.

                                what do you guys think?

It sounds like the power supply board is running otherwise you will be getting the backlights for you to see half blue screen.
Try disconnecting the cable to the T-CON board and see if the TV will stay on longer than a few seconds.

Disconnecting the two main ribbons from the top of the TCON?

I disconnected the power cable and the knitted colored cable from it and the screen wouldn't turn on at all

The Problem: This player has a toggle switch to select between Stereo, Mono R, and Mono L. Regardless of the setting it outputs the sound to both the L&R audio jacks. In the Mono R position, the audio output level is normal (from both the L and R audio output jacks), in the Stereo position the audio output is about half the volume, and in Mono L, it's about 3/4 the volume. Something about putting it into Stereo mode is causing the volume to drop significantly and I can't figure it out.

The player processes the audio signal using two different reference frequencies. The "R"...

So, laptop was with dead cpu, replaced. Now everything works except i have problems with audio. The problem is related with long audio cable that from one side is plugged in the motherboard and on the other side is connected to audio daughter board that goes on the top of the laptop(behind screen). The symptoms are:

                                          1. In bios everything ok (with long audio cable on connector j3701 connected or not),

Hello everyone! I've found this television, and I began troubleshooting it.

First, the television kept rapidly power cycling. I've warmed up the capacitors with a hairdryer, and after 3 dimmed red blinks, the backlight turned on, then turned dim, and no picture was present on the screen.

I believed that this was caused by a bad power supply producing insufficent power (I've measured 3.5v on the 5.2v rail), so I've blindly recapped the board.

After the recapping, all the voltages stableized, however, the issue in the title still remains.

                                          I could...

                                          Hello ,
The issue with this set is that it turn on just fine and after a minute or so the picture shows either vertical lines or turns half black and from that point on starts a boot loop.
If a let the unit to cool down for a minute the same pattern starts again. i had exactly the same mainboard as a spare and replaced it but nothing changed.

                                          Any ideas what to check?...
