I recently saved the landfill from another salvageable flat screen and it has completely white screen. Already took off the back panel to inspect the power board and T Con boards. No visible capacitor damage and I cleaned all connections with IP alcohol and reconnected. Still no change and I can't locate the surface mount fuse on the T Con board to check it. Any ideas of what to look for would be greatly appreciated. I ordered a full replacement kit with power board and T Con board in the mean time.

Re: Element 50" LED ELEFW504 with white screen.
The way the screen look I think the fuse is OK, if it is, then try having one ribbon cable between the LCD panel and the T-CON board connected one at a time to see if you will get image on half of the screen or not.Never stop learning

Re: Element 50" LED ELEFW504 with white screen.
Well, when I was taking the TV apart I discovered what that crunching sound was when I was putting the stand back on. Apparently the screws that secure the stand attach to the metal panel that covers the T conn board and those screws are just long enough to barely miss the board. Well, I am glad that I ordered a new T conn board because I ruined it. Good news is that I am getting sound and when I detached the T conn from the screen, half the picture went off. Funny it was the opposite side that went off then I assumed would would turn off. Thanks for the help locating the fuse though.Comment

Re: Element 50" LED ELEFW504 with white screen.
Well after ordering and installing the complete TV repair kit from shopJimmy.com which includes the T conn and power board, I am getting a blank screen after installation. The menu and source list is not showing up. The backlights are working but I am getting no images. Tried the flashlight test to see if images show up with the light and nothing. Any ideas on what steps to take next? I am still getting sound and it does seem to auto select the source coming in when I plug my computer into HDMI 1. The screen isn't white anymore so I guess that's one less thing as Forest would say.Last edited by Lmterickg; 10-25-2016, 11:08 PM.Comment

Do what budm suggests in post #3. This will help determine if it's a bad panel or not.Comment

Re: Element 50" LED ELEFW504 with white screen.
Ok so I disconnected one ribbon of the T conn at a time and no change to screen. The backlights are on and still blank screen with no images. I was confused as to how I go from a white screen to black screen so I hooked up the old T-Con board and disconnected one ribbon at a time and one side goes dark while the other maintains the white screen somewhat. This happened with both ribbons. Attached are pictures of the ribbon removal test of the old T-Con board. I also noticed that the T-Con boards are different in some ways. I attached pictures of them as well. The old T-Con is connected and below the new one I purchased in the kit. Thanks again for any help.Comment

Re: Element 50" LED ELEFW504 with white screen.
Well turns out I ordered the wrong kit for my TV. Correcting this error now and ordered right part. I would still like confirmation that my panel is fine based on the diagnostic test results of one half the screen going darkComment

by m1ch43lzmHi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic... -

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....-

by maxim2511My Oled Tv is 55inch tv, 3 days ago I notice that middle of the screen is getting warmer and on picture I have ghosting, missing red color. Color red was still displaying, but it was not so strong as corners of the screen and watching some movies makes me angry.
Then I get an idea to take it apart and clean boards from dust.
In side of Tv was not so bad, I take compressed air in can, and gently blow up.
Also I was thinking to styrofoam sponge to isolate power board from screen that the middle of the screen will not worm so much. Because Led on screen when gets higher... -
by TheDandoHey guys I've got a MSI GS66 Stealth 11ue-007us Board Number MS-16V41 VER.1 with a broken screen connector on the motherboard.I was wondering how I would go about finding a exact replacement for it.I can't seem to find any schematics that would help me so I'm kinda stumped.I did buy a screen connector that I thought was close enough but it doesn't really invoke much confidence in me that it works perfectly as plugging the screen into sometimes does output a "glitchy" image for just a few seconds. So now I'm kinda in a cross road where I'm pretty sure it could be a faulty screen but I...

Hello esteemed gentlemen. I have owned this LCD TV since 2012. The only repair was the replacement of the PSU a few years ago. Apart from that, no issues. Recently, all was working fine until I switched on to see it appear as so. The day before it was working fine. There is sound. Could this be a T-Con board issue? If not, what could it be? Thank you.
