Samsung 50" TV flashing power light

When you remove the plug from the main board to the power board the back-lights all start flashing, what voltage should the BLU on/off be.

Is this BLU on/off the same as the Pl on/off, because when I check the circuit I get a dead short between the two pins

Pffft. How would you suppose we should help you without any model number or pics of the TV ? Is it a LED or a LCD or what?

If it is a LED, Id be checking the LEDs in the panel first.

As for your question: I am not so sure you should be poking around that thing too much without knowing very basic things what PSon and BLon pins actually do.

I have worked on Radar systems and naval missiles systems and I have been fixing TVs for sometime but from time to time some thing new comes out that one needs some information on and this is the case. And in the first comment I said that when the Main Board is disconnected the LED are flashing.

                  So the backlights are flashing.
What is the power supply board part number? BN44-??????
                  Model number of the TV?
BL-ON (BLUON) is steady state DC. BL-ON is usually >2.5Vdc = ON, <1Vdc = OFF, BUT some of the SAMSUNG board uses 0.7Vdc = ON, <.2Vdc = OFF.

easy for you to say... we don't even have a picture of your PSU so we have something to look at. I think you should know with 114 posts on your account, that we need pics. Other than that it's just guessing around.

Your TV is a LED. You may have a bad LED and nothing wrong with the PSU. In order to test the LEDs, you have to take the panel apart. There are tons of threads here about that.

Yes have taken the panel apart and have said before all the LED are working I can see the all flashing, I think it is the Power board but cannot find and diagrams, there is no bulging capacitors.

Only because you see that all LED's are flashing, it doesn't proof that all LED's are O.k. There may be one that is intermittent, may be a bad connector somewhere etc.
Power the led strips externally and see what happens

I picked up this TV from Facebook Marketplace, original owner described it as "screen went black after a pop" and I hoped to see an obvious fuse or cap to replace. Doesn't seem to be the case, but my experience and electrical knowledge are kind of limited for this.

The power board (BN44-00445A, see attached) turns on and Vs and Va seem to momentarily have power, then they steadily drain to zero over a minute or two as if they're only getting power from capacitors. I've been measuring Vs and Va from the test pads, with and without the other boards connected to the power board...

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                          Assuming...

                                          Initial Issue

The laptop initially presented graphic issues and driver failure (Code 43) for the GPU.

After preventive maintenance (cleaning, thermal paste, etc.), it powered on normally. We disassembled it again to inspect the GPU, reassembled...

                                          Samsung Power Supply Board BN44-00874F
                                          by Nicktronic
                                          Hey everyone,

This power supply board is hard to find but there are repair kits available. This board had a blown fuse, FP801S, blown PFC MOSFET, QP802CS and ceramic cap, CP809. I replaced them with parts I already had and tested the rest of the parts that would've come in the repair kit and they were fine. I powered the board up on the bench expecting, in typical Samsung power supply board fashion, to see all my output voltages but, nothing. 0 volts on CNL801, CNM801 and CNT801. The only thing I have is 170vdc on the filter caps. No standby voltage either.

                                          Anybody...

Need advice testing a samsung power supply board with scope

I am attempting to test a samsung power supply board to verify the pfc ic is working. I am powering up the board with my isolation transformer. The board turns on fine but when I attempt to connect the ground for the scope probe, it trips out the isolator. I was taught not to 'float my scope' so I am wondering if I should test without connecting the ground lead or would that be asking for trouble? Not sure how else to test, I don't have a portable scope. I could plug direct to mains power but that would bypass the safety factor.
