I have never those before, if that is the case, then there must be another board inside the LCD panel since those connectors are not what we are seeing on the LED connectors.

One last question before I start trying to get at the LED strings.

If I can get the screen to flash on initially by jumpering PWR_on and BL_on, why wont the screen flash (with everything connected) when the power on button is pushed (manual or remote)?

maybe the mainboard isn't sending PSon and or BLon...

Re: Vizio M470NV will not turn on

I didn't fully ask my question....

                  - We were going down the path that a bad led was causing the unit to shut off after the screen flashed on for a few seconds.

                  - If this were the (only) issue wouldn't the screen flash on briefly just by pushing the power button the same way it does when the power is "jumpered" on?

                  - Conversely, if the issue were (only) the mainboard not sending the proper signals to the power board, would the backlight not stay on when "jumpered" on?

Does, this mean that I have both a bad mainboard and a bad led string? Or I am doing something wrong.

I want to make sure before I start disassembling the unit further to get to the led strings. Which looking at the unit will be a dicey task, given my skill level.

                  Thanks again

That main board has two fuses on it , you'll notice them pretty easily bec their small at both of their metal ends are gold in colour.See if anyone of those two fuses are open or just check to see if any DC voltages are at both ends of each fuse.Their probably one 12v fuse and one 5v fuse.

the 12v and 5v fuse both are working and the proper voltage coming out. So I would like to restate my question from a few weeks ago.

I am going to have to put off tearing it down to get to the leds for a while till things calm down around here.

                      Thanks again

Well... just take some measurements from the ribbon cable that goes from the power supply to the main board. Use pin out name with the DC voltages measured with TV on and TV off. Other than that it just makes my head spin reading all that. lol

I am having the same problem with my Vizio M470NV as bjhunnicutt did. It will not turn on, just has the Vizio logo on. I followed the instructions you gave through post 13 of this thread. When I measured the voltages on the power board all the 5V pins measured 5V but all the 12V pins only measured 9V. Any suggestions on what to do next?

" 12V pins only measured 9V" Tengo el mismo problema. Es porque el SoC IC no terminó el ciclo de auto-prueba. Para la protección, SoC IC es baja abajo 12v a 9v.

" 12V pins only measured 9V" I found out was the TV in shutdown mode because I've had twins TV to monkey around with.

Primero, pensé was power supply or LED, Después I used poormans LED tester and another Good power supply to isolate the problems, Me entero, el problema es main PCB.

PS: I hope you can understand that I am learning Spanish.

                                    Hi All,

I am having an issue with my Vizio M65-C1 where it does not turn on. When I plug it in the stand by light on bottom left of screen turns on (white) then fades away. If I press the power button it turn back on and then fades until it is super dim.

When I remove cover, there are no illuminated leds on the main board, I've seen others with a red/blue led that turns on.

I've done some research and what is interesting is my voltages all seem slightly different from other people. For example +5/3.5v is 3.48V when on which is different from others on here....

But after I waited for this restart process to take a long time, until finally I panicked (because the restart process did not finish plus the laptop screen only showed a black screen), I immediately pressed and held the power button to force the laptop to turn off. It happens that when I turn it on after having been disconnected for a long time, it turns on without problems, it tells me that the BIOS has been reset and that it will load the factory settings, if I tell it to continue, the computer turns on and everything works fine.

The moment I turn it off and want to turn it back on a second time, or restart it and try to start it again, it no longer gives an image, and it no longer responds.
