Re: 17PW16.2 Blowing Mains Fuse But Nothing S/C
Looking at the Schematic I am wonder why they have jumpers across the coil like L822 and L821 and a few more,? then I wonder why TR807 has AC Gnd connected to +400 volts? I see three fuses on the schematic, but I figure you are talking about the main input fuse for the AC? Which I can not locate?Last edited by ReeceyBurger123; 03-17-2016, 04:34 PM.Please Do Not PM My Page Asking For Help Badcaps Is The Place For Advise, Page Linked For Business Reasons Only. Re: 17PW16.2 Blowing Mains Fuse But Nothing S/C
I call these frankenstein power supplies, they only add whats needed for the particular screen/Tv. So for a 40" using 250w they dont add the coils and for a 40" using 270w which is likely to put more noise back on the line they add the coils. Its just a total mess of a design adapted for the Tv its used in, the schematic is a total joke. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: 17PW16.2 Blowing Mains Fuse But Nothing S/C
Well heres a little progress, not had a chance to look at this much as been out with mates and also sold over 6 Tv's this weekend so had limited time. After disconnecting the output side of the bridge and trying the Psu I confirmed the Ac input side is ok and the bridge is working ok. So the fault is on the SMPMS somewhere will have a poke around later and keep you updated. Please Do Not PM My Page Asking For Help Badcaps Is The Place For Advise, Page Linked For Business Reasons Only. Re: 17PW16.2 Blowing Mains Fuse But Nothing S/C
Just got some ebay cheapo solder, on the other hand mate guess what I thought that the Primary cap was ok in circuit but after snipping it out it has 2.2 ohms Esr and 180uf on it so I think its deffo bad, its one of these shitty TL brand junks its not physically blown though. Im going to change it and resolder the Dc legs of the bridge and see what I get.Last edited by ReeceyBurger123; 03-20-2016, 05:35 PM.Please Do Not PM My Page Asking For Help Badcaps Is The Place For Advise, Page Linked For Business Reasons Only. This cap is intermittent lol never seen this before, I have done a video will upload when I next render stuff this is mental. In circuit it tested fine then all of a sudden it goes OC then 40ohms then 0.40 ohms wtf. I will blow this fucker up for sure afterwardsPlease Do Not PM My Page Asking For Help Badcaps Is The Place For Advise, Page Linked For Business Reasons Only. Re: 17PW16.2 Blowing Mains Fuse But Nothing S/C
Cheers although it was a disaster. I replaced the cap from a board I salvaged that tested good and resoldered the bridge, then after powering up again the Pfc diode blew and is S/C so possibly got damaged by the old cap I have had this happen before. The fet and controller test ok, so I replaced the Pfc diode and again blew up but now the bridge rectifier is S/C, im unsure why as it was polarised properly too and tested fine before.
Im out of solder atm so going to have to wait on this one lol will keep you posted.Last edited by ReeceyBurger123; 03-21-2016, 05:39 PM.Please Do Not PM My Page Asking For Help Badcaps Is The Place For Advise, Page Linked For Business Reasons Only. Anyone Doing So Will Be Banned Instantly !

Re: 17PW16.2 Blowing Mains Fuse But Nothing S/C
Well chaps another 17PW16 repair failure, getting sick of this when ever the Pfc on these blows up im never able to fix it ! The bridge some how shorted out after the first Pfc diode blew, so I replaced both Pfc diode and bridge with brand new parts and yet again Pfc diode blew but took the fet out. So I swapped the fet, diode, controller and checked everything else in that section for S/C plugged it in and bang goes my new bridge again. Wtf ? Replaced the bridge and again checked for S/C checked all the resistors and polly caps, everything good. This time it didnt blow anything. Good right ?
Plugged it into the Tv got standby, tried to turn on and bang goes the pfc controller, diode and fet again as soon as the bl kicked in. I checked the cap that I replaced to see if it got damaged but its 100% fine so I desoldered it and out the window into the bin went this pile of shit Psu
I also have just got a 17PW20 with blown Pfc probably will end up the same as this though but will give it a shot, might make a thread. Thanks for the input though chaps, and if any one beats the Pfc section meltdown one on of these PLEASE tell us all how toLast edited by ReeceyBurger123; 03-28-2016, 06:20 PM.Please Do Not PM My Page Asking For Help Badcaps Is The Place For Advise, Page Linked For Business Reasons Only. The PFC controller drive output to MOSFET probably stuck HIGH instead of switching on and off.Never stop learning

Re: 17PW16.2 Blowing Mains Fuse But Nothing S/C
But it was replaced with a brand new one bud, and I checked its feedback resistors and they were fine. God knows what causes these to break down as they do but I dont have the time or effort to repair it a replacement is cheap enough on ebay so will just change itPlease Do Not PM My Page Asking For Help Badcaps Is The Place For Advise, Page Linked For Business Reasons Only. by stav242Hi,
ive picked up a Samsung UE32F5500AK TV with a BN44-006056A power pcb.
It was reported as `blowing the fuse` - the 3A one in the plug.
on quick inspection of the power pcb, a ceramic capacitor CM802 has blown apart.. photo attached.
Ive found a PDF of the circuit schematic and can identify the neighbouring components (RM801, RM802) but cannot find CM802 on the schematic.
Can anyone identify what CM802 is ?
thanks.

by TipsLooking for some assistance please.
Trying to repair a PD27AOQ samsung power board.
Initially had the typical problem of cm806 capacitor blown, additionally thermistor NT801s blown.
Replaced the ceramic capacitor, str60252s, bridge rectifier, thermistor and fuse.
Testing it the fuse blows immediately power is turned on.
diodes dm852 and dm853 test as shorted when in the board but fine when removed.
any assistance, guidance would be appreciated. -
by corrizeHello, I disassembled this dead camera, and found this WTF… Two fuses soldered one above the other !
I was pretty sure nobody touched it before, but that can't be from factory. There is flux, and capacitor is probably missing.
The other weird thing : the fuses are « G » fuse : (0.75A – 8V), seems very low. The original fuse should be « O » : (32V 2,5A).
There is « O » mark beside. All fuses have the same mark letter on main board. So, I can deduce it's a « O » fuse.
And this correspond to the issus I saw : when I plug the battery, I measure the voltage dropping... -
by Bootleg1Hi all, so i was watching tv acreen went black and no sound. Traced problem to blown tcon fuse. Replaced and it blows replaced again samething. So my tcon fuse keeps blowing. I bought a new board havent installed yet infear its just going to keep blowing the fuse. If i only connect the right side ribbon cable the fuse doesnt blow but as soon as i connect the left cable my tcon fuse instantly blows and no picture. The right side picture works clear as day and left side picture is grey (picture attatched) im hoping its a bad tcon board itself or a cable or anything and not the panel. Thank you for...

by jshhhHi guys,
I'm inexperienced with electronics repairs, I've done a little bit of soldering caps and whatnot, but i have a blown fuse on this mimaki printer I got which I have bought a replacement for.
How do I remove this type of fuse (see picture)...it kinda looks like it would pull out of that bracket but it didn't come at first pull and I didn't want to brute force it incase it's soldered on there like most of the rest of the components.
Anybody know how to remove this type of fuse?
