    17pw26-4

hi guys, i fixed this tv a while ago by replacing the bad capacitors.
now tv wont fire backlight. though tv does turn on the back light is off

i tested the backlight volts....its measuring 53 volts from psu?!

after taking cover off inverter i saw one of the fuses was blown

what would be causing the high volts to the inverter?

ic? sorry, im very much a novice!

    any pointers would be appreciated.

Unhook the inverter and mainboard, plug the Tv in the Psu starts all voltage rails check the 24v output see if its persistent first I had one where the inverter done some damage to the Psu due to shorting the 24v rail. Also make sure you have a good chassis ground and measuring in DCV !

Also can you upload images of the Tv please ?

Hmm thats odd, are you using chassis ground and DCV ? If still out of whack your meter is dud because if the Psu did go that high and out of spec it would not work at all.

ahhhh wrong setting on multimeter! what a t*t.... ok so getting 24v to inverter, but one of the 125v fuse is out, how can this be blown with the 24v going in? must indicate another problem on the inverter... any ideas?

Plug your black lead into the port marked COM and measure again.

Repair of this inverter, also your Psu will need some caps changing before it fails next too.

Heres a Pw26 I repcapped, I really urge you to replace the caps on it as they wont be long off failing, replace them with brand new high quality capacitors.

Most common fault on the inverter is the FET s going short part is A04614 .

I have used this company before never had a issue with them some good prices too so for that price certainly worth a try.

how do you figure out the faulty ones? the top fuse is blown, so i assume its the top of the board, how do you test these?
