The mobo has "model Z8T" written on it in white. Also there is a sticker that says MB NBKRP1100B4, 2118F947600.

Thanks m1ch43lzm for the very detailed analysis... To be honest I'm a noob to electronics and just starting out. I'm going to go to school as a ee major soon but for now I'm limited to using my multimeter and chasing voltage rails. I've chased the 19.5 volt rail (which reads 19.66 on my fluke dmm) starting at the top two pins from dc-in past the first two mosfets and on. They are all 19.5volt and seem normal. However, I'm stuck where I read the 6th pin and it reads 0.283-0.284volts. Obviously something has shorted and the protection mechanism has turned on. But I dont know where to go from here....

I think they made drastic changes to the board at revision F because on the boardview that was posted, the dc-in pin number 6 goes to a resistor then to a diode from which there are like a hundred connections to all kinds of components. On my board, that diode is missing entirely....

Hi everyone.

I am diagnosing my personal laptop, because it wont power on and no leds light up.

At the dc-in there are 8 pins, 1 and 2 shows healthy 19.66 volts. The next three are ground, but the 6th one shows .283 volts. This is strange to me, it should be 3.3 or 5 or aome volts not 0.283v. As I am new to this, I would like some guidance. Please someone advise me on what to check next.

Oh the boardview and schematics I am using is for a similar model as I cannot find the proper one anywhere. Quanta DA0P5HMB8F1 rev F. Nowhere on the internet.

m1ch43lzm, thank you for the files. I have several different boardviews for the op5 series but they all have PL1001 and PL1002 which on my actual board, doesn't exist. There is nothing at all where the board view shows PL1001 and PL1002. Could anyone help me find a board view that doesn't have those two components right next to the DC-in? Thanks in advance....
