Picture is not clear enough to see if you've bridged the correct pins. What is the voltage now at POWER ON, with red meter probe on POWER ON and black probe on the chasiss of the TV? (Leave the resistor in place.)

Hmm. That should turn it on then. Can you remove the resistor and reconnect the
PSU and main boards. Then check power on pin again - just make a note if it goes high briefly then low, or not...

To me this indicates your power board is bad. I think main board is trying to turn on board but failing. Put the resistor back in place and check voltage across the 450V cap Also try connectingpower on to gnd again with a resistor.

The power on pin is active high, so it needs >2.5Vdc to turn on.
Since the PFC Voltage booster did not come on with force on resistor, then you need more in-depth troubleshooting.
See PDF.
P/N of this power supply board?

Check DC volts across C6323, C6117, C6118, C6115 -- all on the primary side with PSON being wired HIGH. Can you also check if R6342 is intact (should be a short) and get the part # of IC6301 on the bottom of the board (the large multi lead chip)
Looks like IC6301 is an "all in one" main SMPS controller and PFC controller. I hope it is not a custom Sony part or getting a replacement may be tricky.

Usually, I find I can gently bend over the capacitor to probe the leads. (Only do this with power off -- the top of the cap is often live!)

Hi,
My Sony W905 started to turn itself off an on every few minutes and blinking 8 times red in standby. A few minutes later the tv was completely dead.
I can only hear the click of the PSU when attaching/detaching the power cable. No standby LED.
I have a KDL-55W755c that came in dead - not even standby light going on. Tested the power supply - all correct. Tested the output pins on the Led driver board (in which the power cord plugs in) - all seemed fine.
I got a service manual for this model and tested the DC/DC converter by checking voltages on selected components. Every voltage was present where it should be. Service manual says that in this case a "Muffin" replacement is needed. This is the moment where I got stuck as I wasn't able to Google my way through it - till this day I...
Hi all my colleagues, thank you for taking a little time to read this, I have a problem with the Sony Vaio mobo with the MBX 226 REV 1.1 board code, this mobo is completely dead, after I measured the 19v power voltage it was safe but 3v and 5v didn't show up and I've measured all the impedances on all the coils no problem, maybe someone can help me with this case, thanks for your time....
Hi there, rookie here
Sony worked fine then died, I opened up and ohmed out the fuses and checked standby voltage and all fine, does this point right to the MB or is there something else I should do next
