Update...
Got a replacement PSU board..
Now it only comes on for a second or two and then shuts down..
Assuming the part I got was good, it's now looking like an LED STRIP problem..
Sound about right??

I have been out of the game for a while.. A bad LED strip did not occur to me.. Thanx..
The whole TV shuts down.. Not just a backlight shutdown..
If it's an LED Array replacement, I can just forget about it.. I don't have the time nor the space to tackle one of those... And they ain't fun to begin with...
I am thinking a Power PCB replacement is going to be my best bet...

I have Sanyo 55" TV that randomly shuts off..
Sometimes it will stay on for 5mins or so, sometimes it shuts off after a min or two...
When it DOES stay on, it works fine...
All things being equal, would it be more likely a POWER Board issue or a MAIN Board issue???

MAC Display A1316/A1407 appears to be dead even after replacing the PSU three times ?
I have an older 27" MAC Display that I simply loved.. Sharp clear display.. Then it crapped out on me..
Long story short, I assumed it was the power board and replaced the PSU three times.. STILL completely dead..
So, I was wondering.. Would a bad VIDEO BOARD cause the same doornail dead symptom???
The thing is, this MAC monitor doesn't have any indicator that power is on.. In the past, I have only known it's "ON" when there was a pic on the display...
I haven't checked voltages, as I am not sure where on this PSU to check..... -

Yea, this is not really a "business" per se.. Just a bunch of personal emails I use..
I got CentOS installed.. Used the CentOS-8-x86_64-1905-dvd1
Am checking out some of the web hosting packages..
It's slow going.. I am 2 weeks out from open heart triple by-pass surgery and it's hard to think straight at times..
GoDaddy's timing was about as lousy as it gets..
Once I find some packages I'll probably have a bunch of questions.

Yunno... The more I think about it, the more I kinda like that idea..
I have access to T1 at work and, while it would be a pain to relearn (my last experience with Linux was Fedora) once set up, it would pretty much run itself..

Need some advice/recommendations..
I own several domains that I had parked at GoDaddy.. Attached to those domains were about 2 dozen different email addresses I used for my various projects..
I didn't really do anything with the domains, as far as web presence or anything.. Just pretty much left the domains languish in GoDaddy and used the GoDaddy CP to maintain the emails..
GoDaddy has since gone Darkside and converted everything to MS and OFFICE365 and I dare not follow...
Can anyone recommend a service where I can stick the few domains... -

OK, getting some different readings now..
With the + probe on the lower and the - probe on the upper, I get 7.5K +/-
With the - probe on the lower and the + probe on the upper, I get 10.05K +/-...Leave a comment:

Yea, I am guessing it's likely a firmware difference..

My meter says [B]MΩ[/B] which I took to mean Mega Ohms

Got a nice TCL in.. 55US57..
I have dealt with a few of these, but there issues were backlights..
This one, the backlights are fine, I just get no display at power up..
I have found that, if I take off the right connector that goes from the TCON to the Panel Boards, I get display on the Left side of the TV...
That tells me either it's a bad TCON (hope hope) or a bad left side panel board...
If it's the panel board, it's likely unfixable..
Is there a way to determine conclusively whether it's the TCON or Panel... -

Two possible courses of action.
1. Try to do a firmware update via the USB port..
If that fails...
2. Try removing the firmware chip from one of the non-functional boards and place it on the good board(s).. The firmware chip will likely be an 8 pin chip that looks like the one pictured. It will either have an ATMEL or WINBOND stamp on it..
SOME firmware chips are of the shallow, thin and surface mount variety.. If that's what you have, I would not recommend...Leave a comment:
