Vizio Powers on no pic or sound

Hello all,
I have a vizio vw47LFHDTV10A the vizio logo on front turns from amber to white but no picture or sound. I am a newbie but have some knowledge. I can use a dmm and solder. Where should I start?

nothing comes on. Since the post I pulled the back off the tv. The only dc power I have at the power supply is 5v standby no other power. I assume the power supply is bad but i would like to try and troubleshoot the problem with some help. All the caps look good no bulging or leaking that I can see.

Need pix and model numbers of the power supply and the main board. Maybe another one of the power supply with the pin out for the voltages. Could be power supply, could be main board.

the power supply # is 0500-0507-0340
I also disconnected all dc side plugs from ps plugged in and turned power on and got the same readings 5vdc on standby and 0 on all other pins.

Check the DC Voltage at the PS_ON pin, it should have >2.5VDC when the VIZIO LOGO turns white.
You must have cables back in place.

I ordered a power supply for $49. PS_ON pin was 0 with all plugs on. With any thing I tried only could get the 5v stand by but the logo would turn white. I looked at the above link on inverter boards. I could not find any dis color or sign of anything burnt. I will update when I get the power supply if it fixes the problem or not.

Power supply was not the problem. Same thing 5v stand by 0v on anything other prongs.

Main board generates the PS_ON signal to turn the rest of the power supply, without it the TV will not function.
You need to check the Voltage regulator ICs on the main board next.
Please follow the instruction on how to test and report the readings in the format that will be easy for us to see the data of your findings.

Best thing is to follow the instructions and i know sometimes we want get thing fixed fast but i have learned here that it is a good idea to do tests and then ask if they think the part is problem before ordering.It has saved me money and has made my knowledge grow.budm has helped me a lot and so have a lot of people here.thanks everyone

Check the caps and the fuses on the inverter boards too. I think I fixed one of these with a bad inverter.

U15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22.

That's because after unplugging everything on the DC side, you didn't force on the power supply with a jumper. So all you get would be the 5V standby voltage.

Anyway, make sure all the voltage are there, then go check the stuff that budm suggested.

for sure, that jumper process can be a little hard to figure out, I don't know exactly how it works, but I'm a slow learner.

I have not tried any jumpers. This is the tv powered on.

Turn the tv on and get a flashlight point it at front of the screen and move it around screen and look to see if you see a image or message.

The Voltages look OK, the U16, 44 will not be working until the 12V power supply is working.
To do the force on PS_ON, you will have to first disconnect that PS_ON wire so we will not backfeed the signal back to the main board, then you will use 100~1K resistor connected between the PS_ON pin and the 5VSTBY pin to force on the power supply.

okay, took the PS_ON wire out of the plug or out of the harness. Jumped with a resistor. The back light come on. The vizio emblem stayed amber.
