Yes - so have you tested anything at all - we dont have time to go through asking if you have tested each component one at a time. Have you read the other threads on the same problem with the same set. Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: Sony 40EX400 Dead No Power....
Yes read the other threads. Im getting 3.3v only. No power indicators. Im not quite sure how to do the jumper. Also im not quite sure how to test on the hot side of the board. Basically using my 450v as reference, haven't made it that far in my online course yet ;-)

Fuse PS6401, PS6402 on the power supply board, the main AC fuse is OK otherwise you will not get 3.3VLast edited by budm; 11-22-2014, 11:02 PM.Never stop learning

Re: Sony 40EX400 Dead No Power....
I dont have any ideal. I know how to use a iron and im trying to learn the rest. I have a shit load of broke tvs from taking them in to learn. I use to run a cell phone repair store. Changing screens and parts on phones. And I can mod consoles.....Im trying to learn I threw the meter on each leg is that wrong. I thought this place was the place to learn. Sorry I don't know as much as I would like to but I am willing to learn. And im willing to stay and pass along what I learn. And I appreciate everything. If I knew how to test the components I wouldn't ask.

Re: Sony 40EX400 Dead No Power....
OK, please read the meter user manual first to see how to do resistance test, DC test (you already know that), AC Voltage test.
There is the primary side of the circuit that is connected to the deadly power line which you will have to do the test, for the beginner to be working in that section is not recommend.
Right now the main board is getting the standby Voltage of 3.3Vdc to run the board, if the main board is OK then when the power switch is activated, there should be more than >2.5vdc on the POWER_ON pin, if not, the main board is no sending the signal which then we need to find out why.
You should read this training manual and get some understanding on how your TV function first, look at the Voltages as shown.
Learning to troubleshooting this complex circuits takes years of learning and understanding the basic first is a must.
Safety is my big concern right now.Last edited by budm; 11-23-2014, 12:26 AM.Never stop learning
