I will read it front to back. I know its complex, and trust me I appreciate everything. I'm like a sponge so you wont have to tell me things over and over. I just need to learn the language.

The hard part is also yo pick the TV that we cannot find the service manual for it.
This site is the one I use the most to get free service manuals, but most TV manufacturers buy the boards from other OEMs which will not provide the diagram for the board.

The TV is not plugged in, right?
The resistance should be the same as when you touch the two probes of your meter together.

And I understood that test before sounding retarted. If the fuse was blown there would be resistance. And I have tested on the hot side before. I just dont remember any of it.

That is why I ask if you understand what the fuse is.
If the fuse is good, the resistance will be <1 Ohms, if the fuse is blown that it will show as open circuit.

"Tv off correct" not just off, it must not be plugged into the outlet.

I mean its off anyway. There isn't even a standby light. But just like the other thread same issue. 3.3v no standby light. The guy bought a power supply and fixed the tv. I wanted to see if I could narrow down the problem on the actual board instead of replacing it.

"I mean its off anyway." If it is plugged in it is not off because the standby power supply is ALWAYS on this power supply CANNOT BE TURNED OFF, the Voltage on the PRIMARY is ALWAYS present. NEVER check the resistance when the units is plugged into the outlet or power source.

Okwhat are those chips called with the hole? I know they put thermal compound on them. I also have all them parts I would have to remove them from other boards. Only thing I dont have is that longer black chip with all the legs on it.

Its funny this site has pictures of bad capasitors to show people that don't know. But if you ask about another part people go off.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                            Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                                            Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that will not power on

I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that will not power on. The indicator flashes red 3 times.
I do not hear any sound and I cannot see any backlight.
I have tried disconnecting every cable on each board one at a time to see if anything changes.
The only change is when I disconnect AC-DET cable on the Power Supply board or on the other end if I unplug the CN7009 connection on the B-Board and try to power on the TV the indicator will stay on solid green until I power off.
My friend ordered another used power supply board but it is also doing the red indicator flash 3 times...

                                            Lenovo 14ALC6 - NMD521 - No power, totally dead.

Machine won't power on, no power led, no fan spin, completely dead.

                                            Checked PQ5400 - AONS32314 and pins 5,6,7,8 are 20v (AC adaptor voltage) but pins 1, 2, 3, 4 are 0v.

                                            Following Gate Pin 4 to PU5400 - BQ24780SRUYR.

                                            VCC 20v
                                            ACDET 2.8v
ACDRV 0v (goes to pin 4 gate of AONS32314).
                                            ACOK 0v
                                            REGN 6v

According to datasheet, conditions are correct for ACOK to be high but it is not.

Tracing ACOK it's connected to ACIN which is connected to a pin GPB0 of IT8227 but also shown as connected to +3VL via a 100k resistor...
