Re: Vizio E320VL won't turn on
You will not get the switched 12V until the main board sends out PS_ON signal to turn on the power supply.
You should check and report the Voltage readings of the regulator IC on the main board in the format as shown in this thread:

Re: Vizio E320VL won't turn on
there is a very good chance of a bad eeprom chip, but I will still check regulators, HDMI chip for over heating and the main board cpu for over heating. Just to be on the safe side.
sometime heating up the eeprom chip with a hot air gun will help determine if the eeprom chip is the problem. its might power on.Comment

According to post 1 "I was reading here on this issue and people mentioned chip U18 giving problem so I replaced that and still have the same issue. any help is appreciated." he did replace U18 EEPROM IC, http://www.shopjimmy.com/vizio-e320v...eprom-only.htmNever stop learning

Re: Vizio E320VL won't turn on
Possible he got a bad one or the wrong one? I know these are VERY susceptible to static discharge damage.
The first time I ordered one, they sent me the wrong one in a package that had the correct model number, when putting it on we didn't noticed it and the TV wouldn't come on as before. After the right one was installed it fired up and is still working.
Vizio panels give me a headache!
I just got an older Vizio GVL42 that would do 2 seconds to black, no audio or nothing... Was about to toss it since it was only 720p no stand or remote but then I did a quick search and if it was used as a PC monitor in VGA input and was powered down suddenly or power outage that it would cause the panel to not fire up all the way and shut down as soon as the backlights kick on.
SO to fix it, I read all you had to do was when the TV was in standby HOLD down the INPUT button for 5-10 seconds and it would power on the TV and move it out of VGA mode.
So I tried it and it worked, and is still working.
Craig, you might want to try holding down the input button for 5-15 seconds to see if that works. Worth a shot anywayComment

Re: Vizio E320VL won't turn on
I would check out the voltage reg. like BudM says. The unit is not powering up completely, which indicated a power problem. The software seems to be saying it will not go any farther because it is reading an error on power up. Perhaps something like holding down a button clears some error register I do not know.Comment

by Bob1394I have used the search, and am stumped.
My Vizio M65-C1, Vizio logo appears for about 10 seconds then goes off.Power LED blinks 15 times then the TV powers down.
I have read through many threads on the M65-C1 including the following threads. I feel like I must be looking right past the solution to my problem:

by Super360Ok so here's the story. I was watching tv one day when all of a sudden I heard a pop from the back of the tv set and rushed to unplug the set. By this time the tv already had smoke coming out the back. It was not storming or inclement weather that day to cause a power surge to the best of my abilities. When I opened the tv up, I found that the three capacitors on the psu (highlighted in red) were all bulging and looked they had exploded. I replaced all of them right away and when I went to start up the tv after the "fix" it started just showing the flashing vizio logo as soon as power...

by MulpHi All,
I am having an issue with my Vizio M65-C1 where it does not turn on. When I plug it in the stand by light on bottom left of screen turns on (white) then fades away. If I press the power button it turn back on and then fades until it is super dim.
When I remove cover, there are no illuminated leds on the main board, I've seen others with a red/blue led that turns on.
I've done some research and what is interesting is my voltages all seem slightly different from other people. For example +5/3.5v is 3.48V when on which is different from others on here.... -

by mrtekHi.

When power button is pressed, the Power led indicator on the bottom right, turns for a few seconds and then it fades away. No backlight or Vizio logo on screen. Removed back cover and repeated test.
This is the TV This TV is a little different from the Samsung I have worked on. Power supply is on the Left side, Main Bd is on the right side, T-CON , not in the picture is on the bottom. I am assuming that the boards in the middle are the LED... - Loading...
