    Vizio M65-C1

    Hi.

picked up another TV. This time is a Vizio M65-C1. TV does not turn on. I had repaired another 60 inch vizio , Bad main board.
When power button is pressed, the Power led indicator on the bottom right, turns for a few seconds and then it fades away. No backlight or Vizio logo on screen. Removed back cover and repeated test.

ID:	3682443This TV is a little different from the Samsung I have worked on. Power supply is on the Left side, Main Bd is on the right side, T-CON , not in the picture is on the bottom. I am assuming that the boards in the middle are the LED Drivers. Why 2 boards and what is the function of each one? Click image for larger version

. Checked voltages at power board and everything looks normal. I have +24V, +19V. The other connector going to main board has :
    ON / OFF = .147V
    Dim = 3.3V
    PS _ON = 3.6V

When power button is pressed, a smaller Pink LED turns on next to the RED one and stays on Click image for larger version

Removed all the capacitors in questions but small resistance value is still there. So, I am assuming that somehow the main board is defective and the fact that I read that small resistance value accross those capaitors is an indicator that either and internal short / has happened.
Wanted to be sure I am not missing anything before I order a new main board.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Most common failure is cracked BGA solder balls on the main board BGA chips under the 2 depressed rectangles in the heat sink. Proper BGA removal and reflow is necessary for long term fix (over bake or hot air gun/dryer fix usually don't last long) And need to know enough about heating boards to not do more damage (cold garage floor on bottom and hot air on top will usually warp + crack something)

On main board, not all low ohm caps are shorts. SOC CPUs need ~1v and operates in GHz speeds. So their voltage rail filtering caps to ground is super low resistance. Think of it this way, if you need to clock fast to GHz, need low resistance So if the caps are on low voltage rails (1v = CPUs/GPUs, 1.8v = DRAM, 3.3v = eMMC), its likely the correct design.

BTW, easy solution of just replacing the main board are often costly on these Vizios with similar shaped heat sinks. Its because so many fail and most people don't have access to proper BGA remove/reflow equipment like above video. So pricy due to low supply and high demand.

Sceptre U550CV-UMR 4K LED, Bad Caps on Main Power Board?
      by Dani_2024
Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.
Main power board model: TP.MS3683.PC821 T-Con board: N4TP546UHDPU2L_BO

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...

      Sony xbr-65x900c main board issues?
      by jb_Bak
Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:
Power Board Connector that goes to Main board
      CN6401
      Pin 01 NC
      Pin 02 NC
      Pin 03 "BL_ON": 0V
      Pin 04 "N/C"
      Pin 05 "STBY 3.3V": 3.5V
      Pin 06 "GND": N/C
      Pin 07 "AC_OFF"...

HP Pavilion 15-eh Board DAG7HAMB8F0 - CPU throttling to 0.4GHz (PROCHOT_EXT) and black screen

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Is it possible to upgrade from a Vestel 17MB97 main board to a 17MB110 Main board?
      by cheeky2
I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
      by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

      Assuming...
