Re: LG TV Turning on and off constantly (trying to repair this)
I'm tempted to just buy another used power board and give it a shot as I don't know where I'd get resoldering done - my local computer place said they won't do it.
I read up on some other threads and tried disconnecting all other power buttons in hopes there were some faulty buttons getting triggered - didn't work. Kinda narrows this down a bit more. It seems this on/off junk is a fairly common 52lg50 problem. Lots of other threads not finding too clear of an answer or the thread just ends. Buy a new board and hope for the best?
This guys issues are quite similar to mine and it looks like even LG didn't know wtf to do - http://www.justanswer.com/tv-repair/...september.htmlLast edited by zsemago; 06-20-2014, 06:22 PM.Comment

Re: LG TV Turning on and off constantly (trying to repair this)
going back to them was more to be meant as a joke or to shove it in their face !!
It looks like that pin is lifting itself out of the board so it is a pretty good and likely suspect
Buy a soldering iron and some flux or borrow one from someone and do it yourself
if buying one , get a 45 or 60 watt one with a flat type tip
another used power supply may get the same issues .Comment

Agreed.....Buy a soldering iron and a roll of solder as suggested and try your hand you can do this.....just heat the work with the iron and then apply the solder and let it flow....Good luckComment

Cant believe I missed that - too busy looking at the brown which didnt look like overheating to me. I usually see cracked poor joints even when there arent any. Also whilst the back of the board is not too sharp a picture the joints look ok from that side.
It is more than possible you got two boards with the same fault... sellers rarely test their pulled boards despite their claims of doing so.Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Just checking - it was the main board he replaced and we are looking at the original power supply as being faulty.
I can actually see a pin hole on the back side.looks like the pin mostly just slid out
They had a said that the main was changed, so if they used the correct wording, it was not the power supply
Went back to first post and saw two mains in the picture. SO yes, main boardLast edited by bammbammfran; 06-21-2014, 06:49 AM.Comment

You think thats it? I can't go back to the TV speciliast place as its been such a terrible experience thus far (some other snafoos too).

by HP32SiiThis is my first post on this forum, and my first attempted repair of a modern flat-screen LCD-TV (though I have repaired a few LCD-monitors, all with Elco-problems (high ESR). I have repaired my fair share of TV-sets and VCRs in the past ('90s) and was fairly familiar with the different Philips chassis (KT-3M, K12, K2, K3, K7 are some that come to mind). So I have a fair bit of experience on old sets. Obviously, modern TV sets are quite a different cup of tea.... no HOT or flyback-transformer inside, for starters....
The set came into my possession by accident,... -
by MireniaHi everyone,
I've got a little "problem child": my Dell Latitude 7420 2-in-1, which had a faulty mainboard.
I replaced it, but ever since, the touchscreen no longer works — and honestly, I’m running out of ideas…
In Windows Device Manager, I just see an I2C HID Device with error code 10. Sporadically, the touchscreen is recognized correctly for just a few seconds, but I haven’t been able to determine under which circumstances this happens.
The touchscreen also doesn’t work in UEFI/BIOS, although it’s enabled... -
by orcicHello,
I have an old MASTER TL-240 LED TV. Since it stopped working and it had a DVB-T receiver that is being dismissed in Italy, I've decided to replace the mainboard with a DVB-T2 one.
The original problem was that when switching on the TV, the power LED was transitioning from red to steady blue, without showing video or audio.
After checking some voltages on the power supply board (HKL-240101-B Rev. 1.4, HKL from now on) someone suggested me to replace the mainboard.
Now I have some doubts about how to connect the new mainboard to the old power supply.

by DevonavarI have a Vizio M43-C1 stuck in a reboot loop with no backlight.
I've tested all the voltage rails coming out of the power supply and they are "normal" for this model (PS_ON & DIM go high when turned on, BL_ON & 3D_ON are close to zero due to backlight power flowing through the mainboard, 5VSB is 5V, and 12V is 19V, which is apparently normal for this board).
Basically, I get similar results to Garry in this post: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=80346
So, I've ruled out the PSU for now.

by l0lhaxz1Hi
I have a QN65QN90A which was purchased around launch I guess making it about 1.5-2 years old... had been working fine until a few days ago, simply went black and would no longer turn on (at all). No standby light and no typical PSU relay click etc. Absolutely dead.
Pulled it apart without doing much research first, suspecting the power supply as it had a faint buzz (I guess due to the forthcoming found short), investigated PSU for some time and concluded there was no fault that I could spot with the board removed.
Came to learn after a bit more research... - Loading...
