Can I replace a 2700uf electrolytic cap @16v with 4700uf cap @16v? having trouble sourcing locally, thanks.

Re: Simple cap question.
Not really its too big a gap - you can usually go 1 step higher so 3300.
cpc have them but you have to buy 5

Re: Simple cap question.
You can solder a 2200uf and a 680uf in series and get 2880uf or any combination of caps to make the uf value you need in a pinch.Try to use caps of about the same size. Don't worry if the voltage value goes up, that's ok. I do that sometimes just to see if the tv works. I always put the right cap in when it arrives in the mail. Just a thought. Good LuckComment

I believe that is actually incorrect you would need to have the 2 smaller value caps in parallel - not like resistors

I am so sorry I did mean parallel not series. I was getting my 5 y/o grandson ready for school. I must think before I type.Comment

Re: Simple cap question.
Selldoor, is right, buy through his source, but depending on the circuit, paralleling to to high a cap value can strain the circuit feeding it. Splitecretes parallel would work OK, and JJR is right as well, don't buy caps from E-bay!Comment

Re: Simple cap question.
One thing to be aware of is. If the capacitor is used in timing , it can trow off the frequency that iit was deigned to operate at and cause other issues. Example is cap in 5vdc standby circuits. This is usually a ESR or Capaciitance value change issue causing the circuitry not to workComment

by NevilletHi All,
I'd like some help designing a simple circuit for driving a small DC motor.
The PIR module is a HC-SR501 which runs on 6V supply and outputs 2.4V when triggered. (Datasheet attached)
I'm not totally sure which motor I need yet but lets assume it'll be 12V and draw a maximum of 100mA.
Can somebody design me a simple circuit for me using something like a 2N3904?
I'm happy to include a relay if that makes sense.
Many thanks.

by SatdudeHey guys, I have a question. I need to replace the caps on my og Xbox motherboard, but I can't buy quality capacitors in my country with this specification (everything is either out of stock, with a minimum order of 1000 or just plain too big to fit in the Xbox). Can I replace the 5 3300uF caps with 5 Panasonic 2700uF caps? Thanks

by TheJeanoxTeachers, a question, is this type of KBC programmed or not? I asked the Chinese guys at Aliexpress if they could sell it to me already programmed and one said yes and the other said no because it's not necessary? Now they've driven me crazy.
Can someone who has already worked with one guide me please!

by objecttothisI have an MSI Ventus 3X OC nVIDIA RTX 3070 with a damaged HDMI connector. The display is recognized but no display output due to the damaged right-side of the connector. I've got the board apart and the back of the HDMI connector is stamped Astron. The problem is that their site has 30 pages of HDMI type A connectors (http://astron.com.tw/eng/product.php?idt=1&pid=3&cid=1). Does anyone know how to determine which part numbers are compatible and then where to source them?
Also, I have some experience soldering but this will probably be the most challenging... - Loading...
