Hey guys, I have a question. I need to replace the caps on my og Xbox motherboard, but I can't buy quality capacitors in my country with this specification (everything is either out of stock, with a minimum order of 1000 or just plain too big to fit in the Xbox). Can I replace the 5 3300uF caps with 5 Panasonic 2700uF caps? Thanks

Re: 2700uF instead of 3300uF
It usually depends on the ripple and esr of the original caps. If this is for power filtering going down in capacitance is usually not a big deal in most casesCap Datasheet Depot: http://www.paullinebarger.net/DS/

Re: 2700uF instead of 3300uF
Should be fine, assuming you use FR, FM, or FS series.
In terms of capacitance, 2700 uF is within 20% of 3300 uF... so OK to do.

Re: 2700uF instead of 3300uF
If we are talking low-ESR (not ultra-low ESR like those on later PC motherboards), I do have both Chemi-Cons KYA and KYB 3300/6.3 on stock, they differ in life endurance, ESR/ripple current and size (KYA 5 mm shorter). Also do have SOME ultra-low ESR caps, or you may try polymodding it arround the CPU. by momakaI know I've been a little scarce lately (like the last 2-3 years), but I'm still here and still doing my thing with fixing PSUs.
For today's considerations, I have a Seasonic B12 BC-550 [A551bcafh] 550 Watt ATX power supply for you (click on links for full size images).

It's a modern ATX unit with fixed (non-modular) cables and an 80-plus bronze certificate. Here's the label:

by spike93Hi everyone,
I'm probably going to ask a very noob question but after many readings and videos I'm still unsure on the answer.
I've broken one of the caps around the gpu of an xbox 360 by overheating it. In the forum I've found this thread where the user had exactly my situation (same console version and same broken caps): https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=24983
The difference is that I've broken only one of the Rubycon caps (or at least that's what I can tell from a visual inspection). Now I'm planning to use a solid capacitor as replacement,... -
by bulkchart32i ordered a lot of caps from digikey to repair my xboxs. one thing i ordered was 50NXA10MEFC5X11-ND caps and i think they are not polarized. will this cause any kind of a problem? i really don't want to order new caps just because of this.

by eryjusHello,
First, I am a complete noob with high voltage stuff. I'm learning, but I need help by someone looking over my shoulder.
I recently came into posession of a Heathkit IO-4205 5MHz Dual Trace Oscilloscope. The documentation is copyright 1978. I'm told it works.
I opened it up to check the caps before I applied power, and found the following black caps and wanted to know what they were. They are on the power supply board. I was able to read the name and model and came up with, "Nytronics 162J-1, 0.1uF, 20% tolerance, 2000VDC."

Hi -
I saw there was another post similar to this, but I do not believe he was referring to the same caps I am seeking.
These caps are in the “B” section of the board and the board is marked C9C11, C9C4, C988. The caps appear to be aluminum sheathed and are marked “FP 95 CD 271 16” The Digikey tech's best guess was Nichicon 16v 271 uf but I don't want a guess and solder in the wrong cap. Do any of you know exactly the value of these caps and a good replacement for them?... - Loading...
