I am running two HDMI cables at work that are 10m long about 30ft, no problem. Funny thing is this TCL TV supposed to replace an older Samsung EH series. Hopefully this TCL problem is getting fixed somehow real soon, other that that I'll have to change the TV and wall mount to fit the old one for temporary purpose. Did I curse already at that thing already today again?
in yours case i think you need firmware on MBR format mode FAT32 stick and do the hard reset as you did before while the stick at USB Ver 2.. not 3Comment

Thinking about what you said and your right, These are older HDMI cables. I suppose I gave it away anyhow by saying I am replacing EH series Samsung TV.Comment

You need to know that certain name brands don't mean anything anymore, I don't trust any of those, of the well known brands, I don't trust samsung or sony. Many already know this but here's an article describing it: https://www.consumerreports.org/elec...m-a1006320983/Quit because THIS SITE LETS A ROGUE MEMBER TYPE ANY GARBAGE HE PLEASES AND THE POWERS THAT BE NEVER DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT SO HE NEVER QUITS. Going by some first hand experience and lots of research, I see less LG, Vizio and Sharp tvs in need of repair compared to the others, now on sharp, that probably refers to BEFORE the chinese acquired them, haven't dealt with any of the newer Sharps myself so can't comment on that but since hisense acquired them, they have more than likely gone to sh#t. Now they have changed hands again so who knows. I have a Sharp from 2007 used extensively, never a problem still going strong and a 70 inch 2013 with the side cof diy repair. Can see no difference in detail even looking very closely. One great feature of the sharp is it can be finely calibrated, many tvs can't be calibrated to that degree.Last edited by nomoresonys; 08-11-2024, 02:37 PM.Quit because THIS SITE LETS A ROGUE MEMBER TYPE ANY GARBAGE HE PLEASES AND THE POWERS THAT BE NEVER DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT SO HE NEVER QUITS. thought TVs come from Malaysia or China to Germany... but they hold over 10 yearsComment

) is that really worth saving a couple hundred bucks? I mean if I don't have anything better to do, sure, but I am flat out.
I suppose there is another underlying problem these year, where others made certain cheap ass decisions overruling me and shit stops working so I can go and fix it.Comment

It seems like a failed update, read where someone fixed theirs with an update thru usb, wasn't much details tho, saw a couple things to try but prolly won't work:
Restarting Your Fire TV Through the Remote Shortcut
If your screen seems frozen, you can restart it using the remote shortcut:- Press and hold the ‘Select' button (the circular button in the middle of your remote) and the ‘Play/Pause' button simultaneously for about five seconds.
- After pressing these buttons, your Fire TV device will start the restart process. You'll see the screen go blank for a moment before the device shuts down and automatically powers back on.
How to Factory Reset a Fire TV Device
If a simple restart doesn't fix the problem, then factory resetting is your next best hope. However, performing a factory reset will return your Fire TV to its original settings, wiping all personal data, apps, and configurations. So, before you consider this option, ensure you have backup arrangements for any important data or know your login credentials. Here's how to reset Fire TV using your remote:
How to Factory Reset Your Fire TV Through Settings:
If your Fire TV is still responsive:- Use your Fire TV remote to go to the home screen, then scroll to and select the ‘Settings' option.
- Within the ‘Settings' menu, find and select ‘My Fire TV.' or “Device and Software.” on other models.
- Select ‘Reset to Factory Defaults' in the menu. Choosing this option might prompt a warning message, highlighting the data loss involved in the process.
- Confirm your intention to proceed with the factory reset. Some devices may require you to enter a PIN if you've set up parental controls. Once confirmed, the reset process will begin.
How to Factory Reset Your Fire TV Through Remote Shortcut:
If your screen is frozen, you can also use a shortcut on your remote to execute a factory reset:- To initiate the factory reset, press and hold the ‘Back' button and the ‘Right' directional button on your Fire TV remote simultaneously. You need to hold these buttons for about 10 seconds.
- After holding down the buttons, your Fire TV should display the reset screen. This might take a few moments.
- Once the reset screen appears, use the remote to select ‘Reset' to confirm your intention to factory reset the device.
- After confirming the factory reset, your Fire TV will begin the process. Your device may restart several times during the reset.
Once the factory reset is complete, your Fire TV will behave as if it's being turned on for the first time. You will need to go through the setup process, including connecting to Wi-Fi, logging into your Amazon account, and reinstalling any apps or content.
Tips for Troubleshooting Reset Issues
Resetting your Fire TV can usually resolve most of the issues. However, there might be times when the reset process itself encounters problems, or the desired outcome isn't achieved. Here are some practical tips for troubleshooting common reset issues:- Check if your Fire TV's power cable is plugged in securely to a stable power source. Power fluctuations or loose connections can cause reset problems.
- If your Fire TV does not respond to the remote shortcuts for resetting, ensure your remote batteries are not weak or depleted and that the remote is paired correctly with your device.

The lastest scoop is this: we got the money refunded and told to bring the TV to the recycling. What ya think? For shits and giggles should I bring it home and see if it is possible to get it going?
Aaand thanks for post #49. I've tried the reset multiple times and that doesn't go anywhere. The only way I see here is for me to bring it home and check if the panel is shorted or not. If the panel is bad, then she's done anyway. Interesting it becomes putting new software on it somehow. I suppose I also could get a new main board.
I guess I am off to buy a new 65” TV locally tomorrow morning and install that right away.Comment

Well that's good, have to give them one good mark for not making you drag it back to them to prove it's bad. From what I read, I think a recent update was buggered and gave a lot of tvs the blank screen. I bet you can solve it, hope it isn't a bad panel.Quit because THIS SITE LETS A ROGUE MEMBER TYPE ANY GARBAGE HE PLEASES AND THE POWERS THAT BE NEVER DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT SO HE NEVER QUITS. If the panel is shorted, it would be the shortest lived panel I’ve ever seen with something like 0.1 hrs of on time.Comment

With china cranking them out, it's very possible. They don't care of course, hence the children's pull toys painted with lead paint, drywall in the medicine etc. etc.Quit because THIS SITE LETS A ROGUE MEMBER TYPE ANY GARBAGE HE PLEASES AND THE POWERS THAT BE NEVER DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT SO HE NEVER QUITS. Was thinking about one of these, my 15 $ gm328a component tester is surprisingly accurate, so maybe in theory one of these might actually work: https://www.ebay.com/itm/16653238342...58QA8X3HTMM88TQuit because THIS SITE LETS A ROGUE MEMBER TYPE ANY GARBAGE HE PLEASES AND THE POWERS THAT BE NEVER DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT SO HE NEVER QUITS. The only satisfaction you will receive is from destruction. Of course after you confirm it's a panel problem.. no reason to not get a near free $500 TV if it's just a main board replacementComment

by smartyCan anyone identify logo shown below?
The logo I showed can be found on the PCB's of laptops NP530U3B, NP530U3C, NP540U3B, NP540U3C, etc.
I assume this is a logo of one of the PCB's manufacturers, but I'm not sure.
Neither ChatGPT nor Copilot know the correct answer.

Hi, I have a few of these & they came with a custom bios boot logo, no passwords etc.
2 x were brand new unused but with custom boot logo, 1 I installed Windows/ran updates then it bricked itself. 1 wouldn't get past the custom bios boot logo.
The third I loaded windows, took a backup of the bios chip, then tried to flash several different clean bios's via programmer which all caused it to not boot. I tried to reflash the original bios both using clip & desoldering but...-

by p.puhakkaHello forum!
I have received a lot of help here, regarding bios modding. Very thankful!
Now I have a lot of Fujitsu K557 desktops, and those have custom bios logo/custom splash screen, and I need to change them to the original Fujitsu logo.
I am looking for the easiest way, because I have about 40pcs of them, and I think there is some "official" way to do this.
I have tried a lot of Fujitsu tools, which can inject the logo to the bios file, but no luck.
Any suggestions? Thanks! - Loading...
