Not sure what the problem is without opening it up. Problem is I can't open it up if it goes warranty repair or exchange. I am 100% sure there is nothing on the display. I had nothing plugged in, except power. The TV does react to the remote, If I press the home button I noticed the bleeping stops and the LED stops blinking slowly too. Yeah, shorted panel you mean? I think that you may be right. I am starting to suspect this too.

This TV has no reset button anywhere. There are couple of ways in how to get that recovery mode. lotas is right, I also can do a reset, with one small difference or call it bonus feature: I can't see shit on the screen, no matter how much or how bad I curse at that thing.
      Oh! Even wifey noticed!

Indeed, I would definitely not void the warranty, I'd send it back to amazon and give it an honest review because those reviews are just not right.

Opening your item does NOT void the warranty. They use to put those void warranty stickers on the side to scare you, but it was found to be "illegal" for companies to do this. Unscrewing your TV will not void it. Also there is nothing that would show it was opened. Only if things were missing would it be void. Even if company says it's void, they can't.

But this is in America anyway. I am 100 percent certain about this, but I can understand the fear.

Well I have not seen any warranty stickers either, what I would worry about is if it does this right out of the box then it's probably just another damn lemon from tcl.

They used to be on older electronics likes ps1/2 or old Nintendo consoles that when you removed the sticker it said void on the sticker. Used to scare people, they don't do it now to avoid lawsuit which is why you won't see them. But yea, TCL lemon. 2016-2021 TCL are great, 2022-now I find are complete junk

Yep, I suspect that's about the time roughly 2021 when those brands started coming out with all those ultra-cheap crappy big screen tvs that they push hard on black friday, which seems to happen 3 or 4 times per year lately not just once a year, that they sell for like 88 bucks. They must have cut cost to the bone and now they are pretty much all junk, Lord only knows where they are getting their panels from.

They are so cheap @$$ made, that if I would hang or stand the TV in a sunny room, it would melt by itself looking like a hanging down piece of chewing gum. Well… I know this turned now more into a rant than a fix, but one thing is for sure: I never cursed that much in my life just because for a stupid TV (idiot box, monkey box etc.)

That gives me an idea! Let's hear best slang words for the word “TV”. Can be directly translated into English as well.

Squawk box, one-eyed monster, time-waster, plug-in babysitter. I suppose tv is both a curse and a blessing. I think the worse thing about it is it's contribution to obesity which of course leads to early death, it doesn't force people to over eat but not many people actually ride their exercise bikes while watching. On the plus side, it probably does keep some people, specially young people out of trouble, if they're watching tv they're not out getting into things they shouldn't. I suppose it's prevented more suicides than it's caused. (Hold it, I can't jump off that cliff... I want to see what happens on Seinfeld) lol. So funny when George says "I like to get the morning news" Imo one of the best uses is as babysitter, if they're watching tv they're not in the other room putting ALL moms expensive makeup on the dog. Put on non-violent toons and at least it can keep the kids in one room while you try to do a little multitasking. Just kept it brief, I knows there's a LOT more to be said about it.

This absolutely sucks that you get a device and have this much trouble with something that is supposed to be new

I made a comment in another post about is this country a dumping ground for inferior products from China and other countries we should boycott companies and countries that are doing this crap because this is absolutely ridiculous nonsense

This is why sometimes I just try to fix what I have or just take individual devices and configure them for the purpose that I have in mind and be done with it

Now that depends on the broadcasters “content”. Here in Canada there has to be a certain percentage of Canadian content. Now you see big news that we get 10cm of snow and folks bitchin' about they can't get to work. lol.

That's why the right to repair is very important. nomoresonys also correctly mentioned in a previous post #9 he didn't think I would buy a TCL on purpose. Correct! These brands haven't convinced me yet. He is also unfortunately correct on the Samsung brand going to shits.. I guess there are good and bad series, but TCL and Hisense do stick out like a turd on some drug addicts butt laying on a sidewalk.
Also if you look on TCL failures of any kind, you'll be greeted with hundreds of pages of reading material for your pleasure,

F@#$in HATE snow, anything over 3 inches/8cm in our midwest flatlands is just useless and miserable. Makes the vehicles rust out from the salt dumped on the streets and makes the seniors slip and break hips, which seems to lead to death soon after.

Oh wait, it is good for cross country skiing, but I'd rather revisit the cliff than do that, lol. One of the most boring "sports" on earth. Can't even bear to watch it during the olympics. Curling may be ranked lower but I think it beats cross country hands down, reminds me of shuffleboard on ice.

My question is there any good brands left that actually have good quality and have longevity because what I keep reading is forum I see a lot of brands with all kinds of issues I have two LG brand TVs and have had for at least four or five years now but if I have to replace one what do I go with because I have been in Sam's club
and I can not believe the price of 55 to 65 inch TVs sets outrageous prices for them for what quality are they I used to buy Philip brand TVs but they for a while were hard to find and I found that there quality had slipped somewhat so then I went to LG brand but I now question there quality because they seem to have an issue with HDMI input sometimes not wanting to be recognized so you play hell getting it working again

That is a very good question. It almost deserves its own thread.

Why we blame LG.. HDMI are depending on version . so each version had its own cable and the out put source should match too.. when the game start with 2 different version.. only the strong signal will be registered, and HDMI cable should no more longer than 1.5m, but if the version passed and output source had strong db signal we can go with 10m HDMI cable

New tvs in Canada come from Mexico, got a long way to ship. I'm surprised any tvs make it there. 2-3000 miles in a semi, switch stations every 3-500 miles. Shit happens.

All tv brands got problems. When you come to a repair thread all your gonna see is bad tvs.. so we see the 1-5 percent of tvs that are bad and think they all bad.

I am running two HDMI cables at work that are 10m long about 30ft, no problem. Funny thing is this TCL TV supposed to replace an older Samsung EH series. Hopefully this TCL problem is getting fixed somehow real soon, other that that I'll have to change the TV and wall mount to fit the old one for temporary purpose. Did I curse already at that thing already today again?
