    Re: Vizio E322Ar Picture Problem

Panel looks OK, that does not look like typical panel fault. I suspect that big processor under the heatsink - probably another soldering failure..... oh, so so common these days.

      Can that be fixed?
Or should I replace the board?

Has anyone ever fixed on of these?
The heatsink is NOT bolted on, it's soldered on.

          Re: Vizio E322Ar Picture Problem

I think the chances of fixing it are slim, without specialised equipment.
New board is probably the way forward.

You could try a risky reflow with a heat gun but even if it worked it is unlikely to last.

            Thank you for your response.
The board I was looking at sold. The other one is $90. It seems like a hard board to get for a 32 inch. Tons of them for a 42 inch. They are the same board, the only difference is where the cable plugs in that goes to the panel.

there maybe other TVs that use the same board, have you looked at shopjimmy ? they usually will have other compatible tv models listed

Was curious if you ever got a new board. I have same tv with Same problem. Suspected tcon fault, but tcon is in mainboard.

Wanted to replace the mainboard. Found this thread.

Thank you. And yes they seem to be hard to find. Having the same luck as you in finding the boards with the 42" connector instead of the 32" connector.

                        Re: Vizio E322Ar Picture Problem

I have a problem with a power board on this same TV. The resistor in the picture tests at 000.1 ohm removed from the board. I'm having a hard time identifying the value. I think it's supposed to be 6.8 ohm 1 watt. The body is 10mm x 4mm dia. The color bands are hard for me to decipher. The board is # Vizio 56.04119.071 (AIVP-0089) Power Supply. I would like to get a schematic also . Can anyone help me with this? E
The resistor is is pink one in space R602

You should set you meter to better resolution to read <1 Ohm resistor.
You also need to find out what your meter probe resistances are.
If the resistor does not not show as open circuit and show <1 Ohm then it is good. Doubt that this resistor is the problem.
It is fusible resistor for feed the Q102, 103 MOSFETs for VBL SMPS section.
What is this power supply or the TV not doing?

                                Re: Vizio E322Ar Picture Problem

My skills are limited to testing and replacing components trying to learn as I go. Before I found this forums I removed all the larger caps and diodes and tested, all read good. I removed the mosfets and tested on off with the test leads, all tested good. Removed and checked rectifier and power transistors using diode and resistor settings ,good. I have 168vdc at the rectifier at the output pins I get varying volts between 1.3 and 2.9 vdc. This board took at voltage hit of some kind, probably lightning since this Florida. I started testing the surface mount resistors yesterday and more than half test bad.I have no experience with these type of resistors. Can that many be bad? One will test bad and the one right next to it tests good using the resistance setting and varying ranges to be sure.Am I testing them wrong ?

                                PIC 1 my board back
PIC 2 burning spot from voltage spike ?
PIC 2 my cheapy meter I got to replace my broken one
                                PIC 4 my board front
PIC 5 my board back not blurry (Don't know how to delete and replace pics)

I learned little more about how to read the codes on these surface mount resistors. With the proper range settings they all test good.
