Re: Vizio E322Ar Picture Problem
did the tv do this out of no where ? or did it slowly happen ? usually if the display is starting to go you will see black lines over a normal image and they will get worse and worse so i would think its a board if it kind of happened out of no where
does it do it in all the different inputs ?
i wouldnt buy a board just yet, i would start with carefully taking the ribbon connector for the display off and cleaning with with alcohol or contact cleaner and reseating them after that im not sure if id spend 45 on a board we arent 100% sure will fix it for 32in lcd when the used market is pretty competitive for that size

Re: Vizio E322Ar Picture Problem
I tried cleaning and reseating the cable already. Yes it does it on all inputs, as soon as the tv turns on. There is no point that the pic. is good.
I can not tell you when it started I just got the tv.
The board seems very hard to get for a 32 inch tv they are all for a 42.

Re: Vizio E322Ar Picture Problem
Many Vizio sets seem to suffer from faulty voltage regulators or eeprom
I would start by testing the regulators - for more info see here
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...32&postcount=3
what do they look like - pics are not quite clear enough for trouble shooting but
there looks to be 2 VRs just below the ribbon cable socket on the main board.
Did you clean and reseat the other end of the ribbon where it goes into the panel - no board at that end? Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: Vizio E322Ar Picture Problem
Great
Here is a better link on testing VRs The other I now see related mainly to
adjustable ones

My understanding is the main is driven by the 5v standby so try first on that. Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

But shouldn't I read 5v on pin 3?
All readings are with the tv on.

It will be fed 3.3 from one of the others that reduced voltage from 5v to 3.3v
They do that as too much heat would be generated reducing 5v to 1.2vPlease upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: Vizio E322Ar Picture Problem
Pity no-one else has commented - even to say the panel is bad.
Are you able to get the picture of the screen board?
Recently someone suggested connecting a set to another tv using the scart out to a scart in - I suppose you could try that or try recording to a dvd or vhs tape
If any of that works then it points to a panel fault.
Also can you get to the menu despite the image and do a factory reset.
Other desperate measures are heating boards with a hair dryer to see if it changes anything and gently prodding the boards with a non conductive rod.
These tests are good to find physical problems - cracked joints loose pins and so on.
Next step would be replacing the eeprom - if it is replaceable. Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: Vizio E322Ar Picture Problem
I will try to get a pic of the screen board but I will have to take it all apart. I had it apart already and tried moving it and there was still no changed.
I don't know how to do a scart out to a scart in test. I have tried heating it up and nothing changed. I did do a factory reset. No change.
How do you replace the eeprom.
I would just like to say thank tou for all your help on this.
