As in title, what would be the best thing to use, some say surgical tubing, others thermal pads so what have you found to work best? thanks, Andy.

Re: Best thing to fix a "tab bond" issue?
I have an alternative solution which does not involve applying pressure to the tab bonds; I need to do a tutorial on it, but basically it works by wiring the signals directly to the side tab bonds which can go missing in some cases. This is the best for long term repair. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Blame YouTube's back-asswards policies on video uploaders and Google+ integration (shudder) for my stagnation in output; I have tons of videos ready to go up, just waiting...
This method is far from unique, I saw it first over at Monitor.RU through google translate, it seems like it's the only true long term solution. The side bonds only need: VGH(+25V), VGL(-8V), VDD(3V3,5V,etc), GND, CLK, RESET and maybe a couple more, so you're talking about 8 wires or so, in most cases you can bond the only one which goes missing (apparently mostly VGH/VGL, causing brown/orange tint and blurry video.) And since you bypass the bond completely, you avoid the problem with getting the bonding "just right".Last edited by tom66; 12-09-2013, 12:12 PM.Please do not PM me with questions! Re: Best thing to fix a "tab bond" issue?
Hi again, well the Samsung LE46A557 is now fixed, for how long I don't know but it does shows a consistent picture from start up in a cold room. The ribbons had actually come away slightly from the driver boards at both ends, I used the heat sink pad off a dead T-con board to apply pressure simply by cutting it into strips of about 5mm to 6mm in width being about the same deep, and laying them half on where it's bonded and half on the loose part with a couple of millimetres overhang, has worked a treat. I guess only time will tell if it's a good lasting fix but it does stand up to a gentle twist from cold, to me that's a good test so if you have the same issue as me, a T-con heat sink pad works a treat, for the moment at least....Comment

Would like to see pictures of what is involved when you get a chance TomComment

by kurtspiritGood morning,
I have a friend who dropped off his Asus just now. He tried to change the battery but tore off the connector.
I can catch up on both tracks but I'm missing two pads that don't have visible tracks to bridge.
Can you help me please ?
Thanks in advance.

by rouninHi everyone,
I'm working on a MacBook Air 2020 (A2337, board 820-02016) and running into a strange USB-C issue. I've gone through quite a bit of testing and part replacement, but I'm stuck — hoping someone here can shed some light.
🛠 Original Issue
The machine initially wouldn't negotiate 20V over USB-C — stuck at 5V.
Diagnosis showed PP1V5_UPC0_LDO_CORE shorted to ground.
I replaced U3100 (UF400) using a donor board (A2179), and the machine powers on fine now.

by ugamazingI have three identical-spec 820-01700 boards (2.6/32/512), and ALL THREE boards came to us with the same fault, from different sources: The boards don't wake from hibernation with the keyboard or lid, they ONLY wake when you press the power button. I understand this is a very minor issue, but the boards must be fixed!
We will of course begin with the obvious (checking lid signals), but I couldn't help but notice these three boards were all 32GB variants. Has anyone noticed an issue relating to these 32GB boards in particular? I of course don't think it's a RAM issue, but it's bizarre... -
by langbaobaoHi.
I'm posting this here in part as a memo to self as well as to describe the procedure I used in case anyone else found it useful. I found a lot of the necessary information to make this work on this forum and I figured I would give something back. If this is not the appropriate place to post this, I don't mind it being deleted but I hope it can help other people.

Hello everyone,
I'm experiencing an issue with my Alienware 15 R2 (Service Tag: DL7NN32). The laptop works perfectly when connected to the AC adapter — it powers on and functions normally. However, the battery does not charge. If I disconnect the DC adapter, the laptop shuts down immediately, as the battery is at 0%. I have replaced the battery with a new compatible one, but the issue persists. I also replaced the AC adapter with a compatible one, but the battery still doesn't charge.
To assist with troubleshooting, I'm attaching two power circuit schematics:- Power
